Just taken a week off because I am exhausted. I feel very guilty, but 4 runs a week (2 at 5.30am) when I am busy at work is just too much. I'm scared I've forgotten how to run but also hoping a weeks rest will give me renewed energy. This running thing is addictive 😍

Sometimes you just need that break , so don't feel guilty, be kind to yourself and you will come back strong 👍

I hold off when exhausted from work! Listen to your body... it usually has a good idea of when to rest and when to get going. Hope you feel energised again soon!

Hi there. I have to confess I have missed 2 runs this week for the same reason. Totally worn out ! Hoping I feel up to a run in the morning before do all my Saturday chores! I feel a little guilty too but we shouldn't. If we run tomorrow great, if we need a little more time to rest I am sure that next week we will be full of energy (or so I keep telling myself)
Take care and be kind to yourself.
Happy running 🏃♀️
I'm psyched up for going tomorrow and looking forward to it. I work in a school so after next week will have more time .
Enjoy you run tomorrow. I too have booked a week off work in mid July-my first Annual leave since Christmas so really ready for it and looking forward to a few unrushed daytime runs.

We sound similar! I work in a school (2 weeks to go for me) and get up and run 3 mornings at 5.30am. It does leave me tired, especially towards the end of the week! Hang on in there, only a week to go for you, then you will have more choice of when you run. I don't think form will be lost for having a week off either

The running is to serve you, not the other way around!

Oh a weeks rest will mean when you run you will run on fresh legs, sometimes it just has to be done

I’m just coming up on a week off running too Maz. I’ve been under the weather with a heavy cold (note: NOT covid!) and much as it feels odd not to be getting out, I know it’s the right thing to do. I usually run 4-5 times a week and I’m itching to get back, but I’m waiting until Monday. Our bodies need TLC if we want them to perform for us!
Enjoy your well deserved break. 😀
I'm only managing to run twice a week at the moment #notparkrun on Saturday morning and Wednesday on my day off. I'm doing 12 hour shifts two days a week at the moment (vaccination centre) and can't manage any more.

A week off will do you good. I read somewhere recently whilst I was training for a HM that taking a week off every 4-6 weeks is a good thing. It allows your body to get stronger. 😊
