So after not posting in here for a while, the always encouraging Grannyhugs challenged me to run 50km in June which would have been the first time I've hit 50km in a month since March (April was 43km and May was 29km)
I'm pleased to say that I did it and the shoes are working well! I was actually hoping to go for 55km but I had a bit of an issue so I'm glad I managed to make 50km!...
Last Sunday morning was when I reached 50km by running a 7km (longest duration since the start of May!) however I had a fall on Saturday evening where I fell down the last 3 steps on my house and straight on my back! Ouch.
Sunday morning was a bit hit and miss on if I should go out as I was feeling a bit of pain but not too much so I decided to go out and aimed for the 7km and to be honest, it went well as I was mindful not to overdo it on my pace so I could finish but as soon as I did, and I started walking home, that's when I felt some serious pain.
Since Sunday, I haven't run at all and between Tuesday evening and yesterday morning, not only did I have pain in my back, I also had pain in my abdomen/sides so I'm glad I didn't go out today as planned.
I'm hoping to go out tomorrow for a short 3km as I know it'll be a hard run due to still having the occasional pain (but no more than the usual pain I had before the fall) as well as eating absolutely appallingly this week due to it being my partners birthday earlier in the week and we've dragged out the celebrations, including a meal tonight
So all in all, I'm glad I pushed myself on Sunday morning to go out for the 7km as I managed to reach my 50km and I don't regret it as I think if I had gone for a shorter run instead, the pain most likely would have been the same and I would have still ended up resting the entire week away.
Sorry for the ramble and happy running
