I usually run at 5.30am for 5k, 4 times a week however my Achilles was playing up so I rested for a week. I went out this morning and It didn’t feel right, don’t know why , was disinterested after 1k and went home - that’s not like me… also finding I’m really tired at that time - don’t know why but just want to sleep…. Is this a conglomeration of everything we’ve been through over the last 2 yrs where I have coped and now my body is saying time to rest? Comments please…
Cheers

Hopefully this is just a one off in which case don’t listen to the gremlins building it into something else. Assuming no health concerns, the 1st that comes to mind is covid or vaccine reaction, it’s time for you to start a new challenge. Instead of sticking to your normal 5k how about trying the 20k plan which mixes up distances. Or set yourself a new monthly distance challenge so that every run, including today’s 1k, counts. Look out for new routes, that always adds interest. Happy running 🤗
Some runs are just hard for no particular reason so perhaps this is one of them. You could be physically tired (530am runs are early 🙂), it could be the humidity which can be draining, or any number of other reasons. Are you well hydrated and eating properly? All the basics can play havoc with our running.
Then again, it could just one of those runs and the next one could be brilliant!
