I'm puzzled. I ran 30 minutes with Laura reminding me 1-2-3-4 through 150 to 165 cadence. Map My Run recorded me at much slower cadence, slower than I have ever been 146/114/112/108 . I use iPhone X in a fanny pack. Why the difference? Any thoughts?

I use Runkeeper and my cadence is never recorded as what it really is. I know that, as I run to the beat, choosing music with a particular beat. My Runkeeper must also do some averaging that lowers the recorded step count or cadence quite substantially. I have wondered myself about the discrepancy, so will be reading any replies!

That's weird...I would trust the music - uness you've changed the playback speed? I think that's possible though I have no idea how to do it....

Could it be that Map my Run etc calculate cadence by using distance covered, time and estimated number of steps over distance based on your height etc or does it actually count steps?I have short legs for my height so would tend to need to take more steps over a given distance than, perhaps, someone the same height with longerlegs?
