... where is my watery, runny bling!?

A nice easy 5k this morning meant I reached the end of my virtual challenge on Conqueror’s Hadrian’s Wall! So medal should be on its way....

But I am also still waiting for my English Channel Medal, for indoor rowing the whole of the channel!

I W A N T MY B L I N G !!! 📢😂🎖

So as you can hear, I cannot wait to get my very first running medal (Hadrian’s Wall) and rowing medal (English Channel)!

I’ll have to make do with my virtual medals for now, but don’t they look nifty!

I’m also keeping an eye out on my progress towards 10k as I had signed up for the Easter weekend 10k Runderwear Festival of Running Race. So if I manage a long 9k run this weekend, I should be ok. Watch this space! I am. And my knees.

Knees are niggling a tiny bit. Everything else is holding up, though. But I will not push too hard....as I know my knees can flip over to the dark side just by overdoing it a little bit.

I have been doing glute strengthening exercises and these work great in keeping the knees pain free. (I’m pretty sure it’s ITB related)

So fingers crossed, thumbs pushed (German saying) and wood knocked, I might just be able to do a 10k on Easter Weekend!

For now, I’ll have to remind Conqueror to send me my lovely ocean and now running medal!

Happy running everyone!

Well done for your exploits CBDB , especially rowing across the channel! I’m also taking part in the Runderwear 10K at Easter, so maybe I’ll see you on the virtual start line?!Good luck, and I hope your ‘real’ bling comes soon! 😀👍

Thank you, yes. I’ll certainly run something on the Easter weekend and I’m hoping it will be my first (ever) 10k.

I’m up to 8k at the moment, and have been stuck at 8k for a while, just because - I think - of lack of nice or familiar routes and some comprehensive mud encounters.

So here’s to our 10k!

I'm a Runderwear 10k runner as well so there'll be at least 3 of us on virtual start line 😊👍🏃🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

I've been wondering how you were getting on with the 10k training. Glad to here your knees are behaving at the moment 🤞they continue to do so.Wow rowing the Channel that's amazing congratulations hope that medal arrives soon 🤞

Yes, I had to stop their own video training which was too intensive for me. And my training plan will be touch and go in getting to the Easter weekend in time. So that race will be also my first 10k.

But that’s kind of nice in a way!

Congrats with your (still to come) bling! I'm slowly crawling up the Kilimanjaro, watching the thick forests pass by. Hope to see some wildlife, but I think I scare it away with my stumbling, haha. Any plans on whether you'll do a next challenge and which one it would be?

Next up: Runderwear Festival of Running on Easter (in 10 days 😳), which will also be my first ever 10k, if I manage to train myself up to that distance by then. This Sat will be my first ever 9k. So I’m cutting it close! Fingers crossed.

And then .... I’ll have to have a think. I’m still doing RunLEJOG, which I will not finish in time (so no medal) and COGH (no medal).

So I wonder if I now can start with event races on specific days rather than virtual, longer distance challenges.

And part of me also thinks I want to chose the race/route by choosing the medal, as some of those medals are just breathtakingly beautiful! I particularly fancy this medal in picture (Time To Hunt 11 Miles, by VirtualRuns) but as a 11 miles race, it is a tad too long for me, although it seems I could just run it as a multi-day challenge. But that somehow deaf eats the purpose... hmmm

Kilimanjaro sounds nice! I might have a look at that, as the conqueror challenges have been great!

That's indeed a very nice medal! I saw a cool medal of a howling wolf in blueish colors which I fancy. But it is for a marathon and ok, that site doesn't check what you do. But it would be against my honor to claim the medal running 42 km in several times. It's a marathon medal, so it should be run in 1 go. But me and a marathon? I think never...

... never say never....

Howling wolf sounds great... so maybe something to work towards to, similar to my owl 11 mile medal. Only 7k more? 🤔🤤

in reply to CBDB

I think we run more or less at the same speed. Calculate how long you would do over 42 km and then get back to me. 😂
