So after the great advice yesterday to slow down my pace to get me past 6km, I picked up a Garmin watch to allow me to monitor my pace and decided to aim for 7min/km instead of my usual 6min/km for 5K.
What a difference it made! I had to keep slowing myself down - the watch worked perfectly - but I managed 7.5K in the pouring rain!
I felt like I had more in the tank but I didn’t want to push it.
Thanks again!

That’s fantastic. Well done on adjusting your pace, I know it can be tricky and feel odd slowing things down, but it really does work. Be careful not to increase your distance too quickly. The 10% rule is a very wise guide for keeping you running safely and injury free. Happy running and well done again! 😃
Well done. 5K steady at a 6 min/km pace, 5K speed intervals and longer slower runs are great to mix things up. The longer slower runs add endurance, shorter faster run will improve your pace for both 5K and 10K. Enjoy and happy running.
