Brilliant start, the time one doesn’t have to be run fast, you are purely running that length of time however long or short. Both versions are brilliant, slow down for the longer run each week. If you reach 60min while working through the distance plan remember to claim the badge. Happy running 🤗
I don't fully understand how the distance plan would cause less injury than the time plan. Or you run very fast? Me, I did the time plan first. Because I run 7 km in 60 minutes and it takes me 85 to 90 minutes to reach 10 km. So I did the easiest first: the time plan of 60 minutes. Of course, if you run faster than 10 km/hour, then the distance plan is indeed better.

Only if you're regularly running a 5km in 30 minutes would it be better to go for the distance based plan.
Otherwise go for the time based plan then, when you reach the hour, switch to the distance-based plan starting from the distance you reached on your 60 minute run. It will be less stressful to do it that way.
