I canβt believe it, I ran 10 miles! I am so, so pleased π. I went out early, 6:30, to beat the heat, and am so glad I did. Went nice and slow and at about 10k, I thought you know what, I reckon I might manage 16k! My planned route hadnβt taken this into account, so I ended up doing an add on along a slip road off the M3 which was interesting to say the least, then when I got back into town, I ran round in circles for a bit going past the same people, who must have thought I was somewhat mad π.
To say I am delighted is an understatement. I cannot quite believe that this is me, who started C25K just over 7 months ago, and struggled, really struggled with some of those runs. This forum has kept me so motivated, so thank you everyone.. Oh dear, Iβm having a bit of a moment π.
Have a smashing day everyone!

Absolutely delighted for you ππ₯³ππ»ββοΈ Go celebrate, thatβs a fantastic achievement so door after starting running. Pop over to the marathon forum to collect your 10 mile badge. Happy running π€
Eh... what was that yesterday about 10 miles being the next goal? You really don't just talk do you? I guess if you now say, my next goal is a HM, you'll post tomorrow you did a HM! π Congrats and well done! Not going to try and catch up with you though, that is just a bit too much for me at this moment π
I know, I did think of you and what I said yesterday π. But it was a bit like your amazing 10k yesterday, it just felt right. It wonβt be happening again any time soon though, I need to give the legs a good rest! Have a great day. π
Oooh, well done! 10 miles is such a great distance and now you know that anything is possible! Youβve every right to be super proud of yourself. Iβm a great believer in not overthinking things and today was obviously your day to achieve it! ππππββοΈππͺβοΈππ₯³
Thank you Ian! I definitely wonβt be doing it again for a while, and you are very wise to remind me of the 10% rule! Iβm going to bring it back down for a while to be sensible. Thanks again! πππ
I really like it, it holds everything I need, especially the water. Of course, Iβd rather not have to wear it, but needs must! How did you get on, I did mean to ask.
Oh Iβm sorry to hear that, I know what you mean about the sloshing, it takes some getting used to! Especially if you only have the one bottle - can feel very lopsided. Hopefully you can send it back easily enough, I feel a bit bad as I was raving about it! But pleased you have your trusty belt. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Thank you so much. I kind of keep having to pinch myself a bit, I am really happy π! Just glad I went out really early, itβs scorchio today. Bet itβs lovely where you are by the sea π.
Thatβs brilliant. Running round in circles or running back and for to make up distance is what I do. I get to the point where Iβm saying just a bit more. Well done. ππ
Very impressive, as I read some people's posts it does seem that sometimes it's those spontaneous decisions to keep running that seems to get great achievements! Not sure if there is something psychological in that?? I wish it to happen to me sometime soon. I plan an early morning run this Wednesday as I left it too late today and it was already silly hot! π’ Anyway, well done you! You have every right to feel pretty chuffed with yourself. π
Ah thank you Skiddle1 - I think youβre right, sometimes it just feels right! I think it happens to everyone at some point, your turn will come π. Yes, definitely run as early as you can - itβs way too hot any later at the moment. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
That's an amazing time for a first 10 miler. Well done!
You do know you needed to have an over 50 cc engine to go on the motorway? π€ͺποΈ

Thank you so much! I snuck a sneaky engine in my running vest π. Thankfully there is a bit of pavement along that bit of road as it intersects 2 footpaths. Just had a chuckle though, wondering how it would be running down the motorway - somehow I donβt think itβll catch on. πππ
Ah thank you so much Delly-dot (I just love your name). I am super pleased I have to say π. I donβt think itβs something Iβll do all that often, but itβs great to have done it. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
