I’m quite intrigued really , I’m not getting out so often , usually one run at start of week then I don’t manage another until the end of the week.
I’m not managing any of my glutes/calf strength and stretch workouts as my routine has gone to pot due to family commitments and yet I’m turning in my best times and pace without much thought or trying 🤷🏼♀️🤔😂
Maybe, although enjoying the workouts my body was a but tired/fatigued ? Who knows 🤷🏼♀️
Last Sunday’s 5K was 36:41and today’s was 36:07
I set off a little too fast but pulled it back for the 2nd K and then ran the next three at a steady and good pace ( for me anyway)😂
Really settling in and relaxing into my runs these days , although I’m mindful that if I don’t mix it up a little I’m prone to boredom so next one will include speed intervals or I’ll see if I fancy stretching the distance .
I had Grace Dents autobiography on audio book today , she makes me laugh out loud and it turns out we grew up not 30 miles apart but on the other side of the border 😂🤷🏼♀️
These deciduous azaleas are a few of the many that form a wonderful mixed and ‘free’ hedge I run past and the acquilegia is from my garden . Blooming beautifully just in time for the winds to thrash it unfortunately 😢
Happy sunny runs to you all 😃🏃🏻♀️👍

Well done on your new PB as you say you’re maybe benefiting from doing a little less than normal so have more energy. Your running at my happy pace and happy running is always the best kind 🤗
Weeks like that are the best! Well done for your PBs 👏👏👏👍🏃♀️
It doesn’t often happen for me and I remember that not so long ago I did exactly the same; a PB for 5K which I broke 2 days later! Sometimes you go out and it all works out perfectly. I didn’t have a clue why those runs were so good! Enjoy it 😊
Thanks I’m not sure where these two runs have come from and in fairness some of my runs even recently have been sluggish and slower .Sometimes I wonder in my many attempts to run slower ( for good reasons) I’ve maybe overdone that ? it’s like I’m running with the handbrake left on ?
However I’ve paid the price of setting off too quick many times too 😂🥵🥵
Thank you , yes ! It’s nice to be enjoying a few runs that seem to be going well . I pass these azaleas each day and they are quite stunning , they grow with other hedging, brambles and in a few weeks will have clematis and sweet peas trailing through it .
It just grows and every year looks lovely with no attention whatsoever, a bit like my runs just now …….
Thanks Lottie and well done for ‘stepping up’ and volunteering to be an ambassador 👍😃 you will be great at it .Yes I’m pleased to be getting two runs in and just happy that Im still running.
My Speed and pace are still a mystery to me 😂🏃🏻♀️
This rings very true. I’ve noticed a couple of times when my pace seemed to have changed gear and there was a whole new sense of my baseline. Each time has followed soon after a period of rest, whether due to bad weather or injury or from deliberately building in a rest week (I read about that on here).
Think your observations on the new ‘baseline’ is spot on actually . Definitely a sense of ‘a shift’ .Nice to see you back , hope life is treating you kindly and gently right now 🙂
I’m barely keeping up with posts, reading & commenting a he moment but try and keep up a bit 🤷🏼♀️
Thanks and yes you’re likely right, the ‘not quite planned’ easing off has resulted in the results of my strength work and resulting level of fitness to come through fresh 🤷🏼♀️🏃🏻♀️Felt good anyway 👍😂😂
Thanks , I think you’re right 🙂I’m not looking for anything other than to enjoy my run and know I can still do it and enjoy it 😂😂
I enjoyed the C25K plan but now think I seem to do better not ‘chasing’ something all the time . Even if that was to slow it down 😂😂( I’m not fast tho).
Things are happening quite naturally it seems ……. Could be ‘heading for a fall’ tho’. It’s all going a little too well 😂🙄😂🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️
