What are you currently using? You don't really need anything different in different weather (apart from waterproof socks in really bad weather) I use injinji toe socks, either short ones for road or long one for trails.

M&S trainer socks which are kind of terry cloth foot. My feet are getting really hot and feel like they are rubbing under foot.

Definitely look at some decent "running socks" then. Depending on your budget, More Mile are a good introduction, Hilly, Stance, Balega are all good. Injini are expensive but worth it if they help your feet.

Take a look at

startfitness.co.uk/catalogs...

To give you some ideas.

You don't really want a thick Terry style, you want a nice flat knit, ideally that fit snug around the arch so they don't move around in the shoe

I love a Hilly running sock. Their Mono skin is good. Get the low cut, it's amazing the difference it can make. I think wiggle and John Lewis stock them. Also a brand called Cep are pretty good, got mine from runner's world.

Hilly are great but I also have some cheap Decathalon ones which are fab too! Definitely get proper running socks though - much cooler.🙂

I live in Australia and wear my hilly lite mono all through the summer or CEP ultralight no show compression socks. My other running socks Balega and injini are too hot for me for our Australian summers 😎

Thanks, glad to say that it’s not that hot here! But good advice. Need to get some decent socks.

I love thin merino socks, they're temperature regulating and don't feel damp when they get sweaty. My favourites are from Howie's.

I just get mine from Sports Direct, they have padded bits where you might get blisters, ergnomic I think they call it! They're pretty cheap, 2 in a pack, 2 packs for £9 or something like that. They don't last all that long but at that price....

Good idea. Thanks.

At the cheap end of the price range, I'd look at Decathlon and also Lidl. My local (French) branch of the latter currently has trainer-style running socks - thicker toes and heels, and ribbing over the arch of the foot - in Coolmax fibre fora good price.
