Well that took 4 months but finally hit 10k this morning. Strictly speaking the first 10k was actually last week but that felt undeserved. Despite having been plagued by injury for much of of my time running silly me got carried away and went straight from 8k to 10k. Made it worse by not even taking it slow and running my 5K speed knocking it out in 58 minutes.
Took it very carefully this week and forced myself to slow down this morning and no niggles this time in a happy (and more sedate) 62 minutes.
Really enjoyed running the full hour plus this time as well. It feels like I can just get into a groove and stick with it.

Well sedate by my current speed. As I’ve been building up very slowly I’ve been speeding up so ‘fast’ (at least for me) would be about 50-54 minutes. However that’d have been me on the IC so restraint was worthwhile.
No argument there. Just very relieved we both got away with it. Very aware from previous attempts and other’s posts how lucky we both were not to get injured.
