So I've just got back from my run and its blooming hot out there!
I have Mackled my own running plan together. Monday is my long slow run (which I intend to increase a little each week). Wednesday I do the speed podcast from C25K+, Thursday's I do a medium paced 5k ( which I might slowly start to increase the distance in the future) and Saturday is tiswas day........er I mean Saturday is Parkrun day.
So today I completed my second ever 10k run, I took 500ml of water out with me and a plan to pace myself at 7.30 p/k.
It was a good run, but boy was it hot. I pretty much nailed the pace as it came out at 7.31 p/k with an overall time of 1:15:06 which is around 2 and 3/4 minutes faster than my first 10 a few weeks ago.
So all in all I'm pretty happy with that 😀

I don't know how you can handle the heat. I've been holding off til the light's virtually gone up here for the last couple of runs and even then the sweatiness is just embarrassing!
Are you building up to run more than 10k, or do you make your long run somewhere between 5 and 10k? I'm looking for ideas!
In all seriousness though I want to run in all conditions so I just went and did it. Last Monday on my long run it was raining so hard for most of the run that when I got back my sodden shorts had chapped my thighs. Good old England eh.
I do take hydration seriously so I guess that helps, most days I drink a minimum of 2.5 litres of water, today I've had 3.5 litres.
Yes I'm planning to slowly but surely build my Monday runs up to 10 mile, then half marathon distance.
I'm pretty new to it all but I know I need a plan to keep me motivated and so far mixing up my runs a bit seems to be working for me.
I went out yesterday , it was sooo hot, I practically was on my knees by the time I'd finished . The heat seems to suck all the energy out of you doesn't it ?
