So hard in the heat again ๐Ÿ˜•

So I did 5km yesterday and again my legs felt like lead weights and my feet felt flat and like they were slapping on the floor ๐Ÿ˜‚. I was almost embarrassed that they would be noisy over-taking walkers in the park. Is this just hydration? I felt Iโ€™d drunk quite well during the morning, too. It was 23 degrees. Itโ€™s odd how one day you do well and the next you feel like an elephant. Still felt good to have got through it, though, as it was so tough. Maybe I was faster than I realised. Slow down!

By the way, how do I know if Iโ€™ve been given the 10km badge?

Well done on getting out there ! It's tough in the heat.

Could very well be hydration .

Heavy legs is certainly a symptom !

You say you drank quite well in the morning ?

As a runner you really want to be drinking around 3 litres + a day

Even on non running days .

I have certainly noticed if I have left a longer gap between runs and my hydration has slipped .

Heavy legs is the first thing I notice.

P.S the badge would be next to your username , you can request it here

Running in the heat feels hard and can sap energy so you did well to get out to do 5K. I hate the heat and shrivel like a delicate little flower ๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿ˜‚ and yes the legs do sometimes feel really heavy.

Like Instructor57 if I donโ€™t keep up to date with my water intake then I really feel it on my runs. Aim for a nice pale straw colour for your urine to show youโ€™re well hydrated ๐Ÿ™‚

I often vary between 2 litres and 3 litres. If I've sweated a lot I'll drink more.

The warmth doesn't bother me quite as much as the humidity.
