I ran my Virtual Vitality 10k last night. My first ever run for charity - SaMH - The Scottish Association for Mental Health. My second 10k. It was very warm here in Scotland - somewhat unusual - so I was not looking forward to my run. I ran the run with (and without) my daughter which meant I couldn't run at my normal time - first thing in the morning as she had work. We chose a relatively flat Parkrun course and planned to do it twice. It was pretty, round a lake and I was hoping for a breeze - no such luck! I found it really tough but I was comforted by the fact that she did too. I've never felt so pleased to stop but that was due to the heat 🥵 Harder than my first 10k but due to various other circumstances training had not gone entirely to plan - I hadn't done the final week of The Magic Plan. However, I got to run it with my daughter who had been poo pooing C25K for quite a while. Wanting to get into her wedding dress easily, she finally started it this year and said to her boyfriend 'actually it's really quite good, don't tell Mum I said so though!' She has also realised it's good for her Mental Health. Mum really does know best 🙂 So that's it done, now what next?

Good run for you today 59er and congratulations on running the London Vitality Virtual 10,000, well done, I also ran it this morning but silly me in the excitement of the occasion forgot to save the run so I'll do it again this Saturday, however, I did remember my time of 5K and 10 K, 35.50 and 71.45 respectively, so for my 51st not parkrun I posted that 35.50 time, so two 10Ks in one week for me this week, lesson for me, roll on Saturday, once again, congratulations to you.

Ah no having to do 10 km again. Great time anyway on the time you remembered 71.45 that’s quick. Good luck again Saturday and running again 🤞🤗

Thanks Doris8, there is a "change duration" time and distance feature on Mapmyrun, the time I will post to Vitality this Saturday will be 71.45, irrespective of the time I run it this Saturday morning.

On Wednesday morning I set my metromone app at 165 cadence, time was 71.45, this Saturday I will set at 160 cadence, expecting the run to be around 76 minutes, however, I will change it to Wednesdays time when posting it to Vitality. 😊🏃🏾

Oh AlMorr! Such a shame you forgot to record your time. I think I would've cried! But good on you for going out again tomorrow. I do hope it's not too warm for you.

The weather forecast is for it not to be too warm, I won't wear my number as I did on Wednesday but probably I'll wear my Parkrun T-Shirt.

Well, good luck (although you don't need it because you've done it all before) and enjoy! 🙂

Congratulations on your Vitality 10k - the heat is definitely making running harder at the moment (until we acclimatise a bit), so we’ll done!😀👏 And great that you ran it with your daughter too! 🙂

Great run for your first charity run 59er, and a great success with your daughter 😀who’d have thought mum knew best 🤣 and you ran a great time even in all that heat 🤗

Well done 59er, what an achievement! Oh and of course mum knows best, now do you think you could pop over and explain that to my two? Now that they are adults they think they know more than me😂
