Very pleased that I have finished the first 30 min continuous run today! I kept going with the end walk until mapmyrun got to 3 miles then found out it's not 5k, rookie mistake! So today I now know 3.1 miles = 5km πŸ™ƒ doh! Have now changed the settings to km instead of converting after lol

The wind was in my face on the way out but I decided that it was keeping me cool and not keeping me back!

I've been quite inspired seeing all the pics of where folk have been running. All the fields, forests and beaches have made me think I need to try out some different routes. My current one is beside a 50mph road. It is beside fields but the farmer has moved all the lambs somewhere else so the only enjoyable bit has gone leaving the big noisy trucks, lorries and cars on the route. They're not doing 50mph either πŸ™. Will think on as to where I can go. I do like just to be able to run straight from my front door without driving anywhere first so might need to get creative.

Jog on everyone!

Well done for your first run of week 9 πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘

An important run because you’ve started the final week. Graduation week! Continuing to take it steady will set you up for success. It does sound as though you would benefit from a prettier route sometime down the line. My route was the same most of the time during C25K - along a long riverbank, a β€˜there and back’ route. It was not unpleasant, but became too familiar by the end, so after I graduated I went exploring and I remember that it felt like an adventure to be running out of the village!

Good luck with R2! 😊

Thank you! It does sound good to run different places and mix things up a bit. Running beside the road was ok initially but it's just getting busier and busier.

Well done it feels amazing that it’s even possible, well that’s what I felt like and running without the app this week I feel like a grown up πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ†

Thank you and yes it is incredible as I've always given up before reaching this point in the past! And well done you doing it on your own steam. It does sound grown up! You made me laugh with that comment

Don't forget that the target isn't actually 5km, but 30 minutes. (Nor is it 50mph.)

Sure I was just curious to how my speed was so kept going with the cool down walk to see the time at 3miles πŸ™‚If only folk stuck to 50mph, I think they're doing 70 sometimes.

That’s really great! a good run, I did something similar with 8k thinking it was 5 miles, imagine my disappointment when I saw it was only 4.99 miles lol

Hee hee yes it would have annoyed me too πŸ˜‚ I'm sticking with km on the app now so it won't happen again!

I often plan a route to run a few hundred metres longer than the map says, because map planning tools assume there are no rounded off corners and you'll be running in the middle of a road. Add to that that GPS tracks aren't always that accurate, with a jitter of 3m or more on each point inherent in the civilian GPS systems.

Yeah I've just started to notice that mapmyrun calls the first mile at different points and with about 10m+ difference sometimes between them and thats on a straight road route.

Great news! I just did my first run of week 9 on Monday too. I’ve been varying my route around the local park slightly to add in a few inclines but feeling good!

Heading out with people from work tonight for a 5K

Fab stuff Bailey, I think I'm at the point I need a new route too but I'm a bit scared of taking in too many hills and maybe struggling, so well done to you for actively seeking out inclines πŸ‘. We're nearly there! Enjoy your 5k tonight.
