See you at the start line, if you look closely I have written that I will start the run at nine o'clock in the morning.

PS, just as a matter of interest, this Sunday morning I WALKED 🚶10K in a time of 1.47.31, that compares with last Wednesdays 10K RUN🏃🏾time of 1.13.08 on about 90% of the same route, according to Mapmywalk, I took 12,876 steps this morning.

Interesting 👍

Like me, I know that you like statistics Ian, when I run a 5K it's usually around 33/35 minutes, I often walk 5K, especially on a Sunday morning although today was 10K, my average walking times for 5K are around 53/56 minutes, I have cycled 5K in a time of 18 minutes going all out, of course some elite runners can go faster than that, it makes me appreciate on how fast those runners can run.

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10 in reply to AlMorr

Absolutely, I have also walked and cycled my 5k routes and as you say , makes you realise what some elites can do .I think at the moment you are running your 5 and 10k quicker than I am .

I'm around 38 Min for 5k although my PB is 32+

And 1hr:19 for my 10k

But at the moment I'm wanting to concentrate on distance and not too bothered about my pace 👍

AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10 in reply to Birdlady64

Thanks Birdlady64, I hope that my time will be in around 70/74 minutes, for the next few weeks I will run a 10K until I run the London Vitality Virtual 10,000 in early June. 🏃🏾👍

Nice! I got mine yesterday. I know I won't be able to run the whole 10k but I might go for a run/walk, see how it goes...

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10 in reply to Beatlesforever

You are allowed to walk as well as run this 10,000 metres, you will note that Vitality are the same company that supports Saturday morning parkruns.

Yes, you are running /walking it as well 🏃‍♀️🚶‍♀️

grumpyoldgirl profile image
grumpyoldgirl in reply to AlMorr

The distance is a bit too far for me. I've managed a 7k walk this week, so I'm heading in the right direction. Not allowed to run at the moment, not even run/walk. I'm trying to be patient!

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10 in reply to grumpyoldgirl

Sorry about that, I just hope it won't be too long before you can run again.

Just a little note to say that this morning I ran another practice run for the Vitality London Virtual 10,000, this morning it was my 12th 10K, my time was 1.13.03 which was 5 seconds faster than last week, I was passed by ONE runner who was running at about a 57 minutes 10K pace🏃🏾

grumpyoldgirl profile image
grumpyoldgirl in reply to AlMorr

Just saw this, that's wonderful Al. Does it get easier to run those distances, as your body gets used to it, or is it always tough?

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10 in reply to grumpyoldgirl

Still a bit hard but I can manage it OK, this morning I walked part of that 10K course to find a few variations to make the run more varied

Hi Al did you enjoy your vitality London virtual 10k yesterday? Hope it went well for you. Looking forward to your post👍😀x

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10 in reply to

I did enjoy the run but disaster struck at the very end, the app failed to record the run, although I did remember my split 5K time of 35.50 which I used as my 51st not parkrun, the 10K was 1.11.45.This Saturday morning I intend to rerun it, hopefully this time there won't be any problems with the app and I can post it to Vitality.

in reply to AlMorr

That’s a shame Al! Good luck for Saturday. I’m sure you get the result recorded successfully! 🤞🤞

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate10 in reply to

I hope so, on Wednesday I ran with the number around my waist, this Saturday I won't have it although I may run it with my Parkrun T Shirt.

in reply to AlMorr

Good luck anyway Al!😀👍x
