PS, just as a matter of interest, this Sunday morning I WALKED 🚶10K in a time of 1.47.31, that compares with last Wednesdays 10K RUN🏃🏾time of 1.13.08 on about 90% of the same route, according to Mapmywalk, I took 12,876 steps this morning.
Like me, I know that you like statistics Ian, when I run a 5K it's usually around 33/35 minutes, I often walk 5K, especially on a Sunday morning although today was 10K, my average walking times for 5K are around 53/56 minutes, I have cycled 5K in a time of 18 minutes going all out, of course some elite runners can go faster than that, it makes me appreciate on how fast those runners can run.
Absolutely, I have also walked and cycled my 5k routes and as you say , makes you realise what some elites can do .I think at the moment you are running your 5 and 10k quicker than I am .
I'm around 38 Min for 5k although my PB is 32+
And 1hr:19 for my 10k
But at the moment I'm wanting to concentrate on distance and not too bothered about my pace 👍
Thanks Birdlady64, I hope that my time will be in around 70/74 minutes, for the next few weeks I will run a 10K until I run the London Vitality Virtual 10,000 in early June. 🏃🏾👍
The distance is a bit too far for me. I've managed a 7k walk this week, so I'm heading in the right direction. Not allowed to run at the moment, not even run/walk. I'm trying to be patient!
Just a little note to say that this morning I ran another practice run for the Vitality London Virtual 10,000, this morning it was my 12th 10K, my time was 1.13.03 which was 5 seconds faster than last week, I was passed by ONE runner who was running at about a 57 minutes 10K pace🏃🏾
I did enjoy the run but disaster struck at the very end, the app failed to record the run, although I did remember my split 5K time of 35.50 which I used as my 51st not parkrun, the 10K was 1.11.45.This Saturday morning I intend to rerun it, hopefully this time there won't be any problems with the app and I can post it to Vitality.
