Hi Willowweed! So sorry to hear your heel’s playing up. Could it possibly be plantar fasciitis? Obviously I’m not a medical expert, but Google it and that may throw some light on it. Hope it feels better. 😊

Are you in need of new shoes?
I may do I’ve been running on them for a year now, but they fit fine and the tread is good. I’ve joined a running club and my second run with them
Is Wednesday and I don’t want to miss it but don’t want to make the problem worse at the moment it’s just sorr
I had the same sort of pain when doing c25k, I also thought my shoes were fine, when I got new running shoes the pain went. I now keep a record of the distance I’ve run in my shoes and don’t use them for anything but running, I replace them after about 900km which is expensive but saves injury. I hope it’s something simple like this for you and not an injury

Now that shops are open, it might be worth getting checked out at a specialist running shop. Our gait and shape of feet can change over time, and if your shoes are a year old it might be time to replace them. I hope you find the answer.
Hi,When it comes to heel pain don’t waste time hanging about pop yourself to a fab sports physio who has an ultrasound machine. They can see exactly what’s going on in there and you’ll get a precise diagnosis. I graduated last June but had pains in my heels... I left it alone thinking rest was the best solution but it wasn’t. Currently I’m at the tail end of shockwave therapy for my plantar fasciitis and I’m still not running. Heel pain needs to be investigated otherwise left unchecked it’s a long slow frustrating/painful recovery.
Wishing you well

Definitely worth getting checked out WW. A good gait analysis is worth its weight in gold. Your shoes might be fine, just old - or they might recommend different ones with support etc. I had PF when I was doing C25K, and it was 100% to do with my shoes.
