Hello all, I completed C25K some time ago and carried on up to 9k. I haven’t run for nearly six months now and need to get the motivation back. I’m 60 years young and since my birthday I’ve become fixated on ‘should I be still running at 60’ Seriously need to get over this 😢

Of course you should still be running at 60 years of age, BUT as you have not ran for 6 months you will need to repeat all the weeks and runs of C25K, good luck for your second journey of running, remember that you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury.
Hi Lizzyb1 , I turned 60 just over six months ago, so I can empathise with the feeling of that being a milestone birthday.
However, having only started C25K eleven months ago, and having discovered to my complete astonishment that I actually enjoy running, I'm damned if I'm giving up now just because of a number. Quite the opposite in fact - I'm delighted to find that I can achieve something I've never previously managed in my entire life.
There are plenty of others on this and other HU forums who are older, so I'm certainly nothing special.
There's no reason why your age should stop you from running, though I agree that re-doing C25K again would be a good idea to get your fitness back. If you want to run, then do!
Age is just a number! I took two ladies out today for a trail run to improve their trail skills. 1 in her late 30s, one early 60s. The older one did mention age a couple of times but the reality is, if you're having fun, keeping fit and enjoying yourself... why would you not!? We even did some zigzags and a few aeroplanes in a field.
You are never too old to do anything at all... if you want to! 😁👍🏻
60 ?What's wrong with running at 60 ?
I was 63 when I started , now 64.
But I don't even think about it ,
I had never run in my life when I started this 11 months ago but I have no intention of letting my age stop me !
However , after 6 months off, as
AlMorr has said , I would certainly go through the program again 👍
60? Pah! It is a fabulous age. I did my first 10k at 61 and am working back up to it again (now 62). Get out there and enjoy it. Listen to your body and you'll be fine. Looking forwards to hearing about your journey.
The answer is yes of course you should. Take it slow and sensible to start with. Go us oldies.😀😀👏👏
I dithered similarly .. I turned 67 in February and had previously completed C25K two years ago .. I started again and completed it at the end of March so am sure you will be fine .. good luck and happy running 🏃♀️
I only started running in January at 67 and I feel so good now, so if I was you I would give it a go. Your past success at C25K will make it a lot easier. Good luck
I plan to still be running at 90! 🥰
I feel young to be chucking my opinion in (merely in my 40s!).......as everyone has said age is a number! I admire you slightly older people on here...you inspire me....so selfishly please don’t give up....I really hope to still be running and pushing myself until the very end. It’s what keeps you young and engaged with the world....I’m determined to squeeze every drop of life out of the life I’ve been given and if running helps give me some more drops I’m in there grabbing them!! Get your trainers back on, dust off the app and remember that sense of achievement and you’ll be back with runners grin 😊😊
I’m currently running around Australia. I’m only in my mid 40’s but age doesn’t seem to be a factor. Plenty of 60+ and 70+ runners on our leaderboard who are way above my weekly mileage. Keep running ❤️🏃♀️
Can't think of a good reason why 60 should be a cut off for running . I'm 64 and still going despite several health issues too. I reckon it helps with some of my problems and will keep going until its impossible and/or I die 🙂.You don't need to be as fast as the youngsters but I reckon you enjoy it more if you just enjoy the moment instead of driving yourself to the injury couch.
Lace up those shoes and gave fun!
