A Joyful Run 😊

Well, what a funny, busy week. I’ve been back in the gym, so aching rather, especially my top half, but it’s so good to be back. I’ve been going for over 30 years, and it’s my home from home where the world gets put to rights. It’s been a bit difficult to fit the running in too, especially as I did something to my calf last Sunday. I therefore decided to take a four day break, my longest ever! Anyway, I set out with slight trepidation this morning - how would the calf feel, how would my breathing be after a small break, etc. And I had the MOST enjoyable run I’ve had in ages. The sun is out, my water meadows route was lovely and quiet. It was one of those runs where it all made sense, and I know why I do it. Just over 5k and I feel ready to face the world and do some work! Happy Friday all πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ.

I bet your happy to be back in the gym πŸ‘And good to be running as well.

I think a few days break can be good sometimes !

I had a 5 day break then did the most enjoyable 10k 😁

Glad you enjoyed your run πŸ‘πŸ˜

Ah thank you! I’ve been a bit muddled in my head this week as all of a sudden I don’t have the same time to do everything. But you are so right, a little break did wonders. Enjoy your Friday πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ‘.

Those runs are just the best!

Be careful with that calf though - listen to your body and, take it form me, definitely don't try and run through any major discomfort. Nag over!

I definitely hear you and a little nag is sometimes needed!!! Thankfully it felt absolutely fine but I’m going to do much shorter runs for a while. All the best 😊.

Lovely to read this post! I admire you for going to the gym.

With a 4 day break from running, you wouldn’t lose any fitness and as Instructor57 says, it’s sometimes a good idea, like pressing a β€˜reset’ switch! Well done for your joyful 5K! πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ‘

Ah thank you Jools2020 - it really does seem as though I had reset 😊. I had lots of energy too today, which is unheard of on a Friday after a week at work! All the best.

Sounds like a great run. A small break and some good weather - perfect. And a water meadow which is, hopefully, drying out enough to avoid wet feet?

It was Lifluf, thank you! It was nice and dry, there’s a path they created for runners and cyclists, so thankfully no soggy feet. 😊

It does sound like a β€˜joyful run’ 😊. It made me feel relaxed just reading it πŸ˜‚ Hope you slip into a new routine soon. It’s hard to fit things in with work. It would be so much easier if they didn’t keep making us go πŸ˜‚

You made me laugh! I know, bloomin’ work eh?! But someone has to pay for all the clobber I seem to accrue πŸ˜†. Have a great Saturday!
