My husband works for the NHS and had his second Pfizer jab a couple of weeks ago - he had no reaction to either of his jabs but I think one of his work colleagues felt quite rough after her second (tired, washed out etc). Not heard of anything much worse than that I don’t think, seems to be quite well tolerated. Good luck with yours next week.🤞🙂

I will hope yours is fine, there’s been lots of different reports of effects but on the whole a couple of days and back to normal so plan to rest if you can

WillowandSola, did you have Pfizer vaccine? You had symptoms "reversed" from the usual order. Good you got the worse side effects over with earlier. Wondering if you were concerned you would have side effects even worse with the second dose?

I did Willows was a few weeks later and had Astrazeneca

I was a bit concerned about the second on because I’d read people found it worse but i was fine

I have read official advice that the side effects for 2nd dose of Pfizer are expected to be greater but it does seem to be based on the individual.

Doris8 profile image
Doris8Graduate10 in reply to Dexy5

Yes hopefully I won’t be too bad as first . ok but as you say depends on individual . Fingers crossed 🤞

My husband is having his next week, I’ll observe and let you know how he reacts 🤪neighbour had his and was poorly with the first but no reaction to the second. Hope you feel ok and have no side effects.

It's thought that having a reaction to the second dose means your immune system is working as it should.

Doris8 profile image

Oh hope I do then nothing drastic.

Conversely, no side effects does NOT mean your immune system is not working! We are all different!😀 Hope the link works ok?

Hi Doris8, I had first jab.... headache, and second jab.....really tired with no energy at all. Had to have a lay down in the afternoon. But I thought 24 hours of feeling rough was better than contracting Covid.

I work in the NHS and really everyone has been different in their reaction symptoms. Some had none. Hopefully that’s the case for you 👍🏻

Hi Dups. Thanks for that. Will be getting 2nd vaccine no matter what. As you say better than contracting Covid.

Hi I had headache for 24 hours after second dose and had temperature overnight but settled quickly. I work in a GP surgery and about half of our staff had headaches and some felt wiped out but all settled quickly. When we headaches with first dose we thought it was the stress of the first clinic 🤣(975 vaccines in 2 days👍)

Hope it goes well

Thanks well done on all those vaccines in 2 days. Yes I could imagine quite stressful.

Meant to add the 2 nd dose is the same as first , it’s just that your immune system has already been primed

2nd dose top coat. Partner had AstraZeneca and think he must have had top coat first. He felt rubbish for a couple of days so hopefully his 2nd dose won’t effect as much🤞

🤞even if a bit off for few days it’s worth it.

Bit late to reply but I had mine on Saturday and had no side effects. Only had a stiff arm for a day the first time. 🤞🏻 for you

Thanks.🤞

And how did the second dose go?

Doris8 profile image
Doris8Graduate10 in reply to

Hi 2nd dose was fine no side effects at all. Hope that doesn’t mean it’s not working.,😕

in reply to Doris8

No, I am sure it does not mean a thing. I read in the news a few weeks ago that having side effects or not has absolutely nothing to do with whether it works or not.

Only if you take immuno-supressants like me, then the vaccin works less good. This because the vaccin is to aid your immune system, while at the same time your immune system gets suppressed.

But if you have an ok immune system, you will be perfectly fine ☺

Think I should. When I had chemotherapy a few years ago never had any side effects either but everyone different .

in reply to Doris8

No worries, your vaccin works 😉
