I hope you are all well and smashing it with your amazing selves! π
Iβm just approaching 6 months in a job that I applied for, had to endure a 7 stage recruitment process, over 8 months and then after that bit of βyour hiredβ high, I was all set to smash it as well as have all those happy days with my beloved Sgt Majorππ½ββοΈπ, cruising our way to John O Groats π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ; stopping off to admire the scenery, while I complete the first 6 months, all virtually, having never seen one person in person... how absolutely dreamy!....π§π½ββοΈ.
However..π€¨.. βdreamyβ.. was very optimistic indeed...the last 6 months of work has had me moving at pace equivalent to a 4 minute mile, (except, very little running involved) and feeling like I have no time for myself π¦. So much so, that I was so tempted to put my other watch back on to avoid the feeling of disappointment π. Sgt Major Garmin was up for a Court Martial ππ½ββοΈ, weβre slow, sluggish and letβs not even talk about those extra pounds π€«. Itβs been tough in so many ways. But... I have taken full responsibility and came to face the music and give my evidence πͺπ½. I have just done 3 months of LEJOG entries, with one or two surprising daily mileage, but in general my daily step count has been pretty low π.
This isnβt the greatest success story, thatβs for sure π³, but itβs a true story of not giving up π! I have, despite it all, reached just over 100 miles to go π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ...ππ½ββοΈ...ππ½!
So...itβs time for new beginnings π£!(...AGAIN π)!
We ππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈπ are going to continue to do self care and I will protect time for us pretty fiercely going forward πͺπ½.
I hope youβve all had a wonderful Easter break. You have been missed and as always βHappy running Runnersβ!! β€οΈ

Another good post from you FAB450, not heard from you for a while, only 100 miles to go for Lejog, wrap up well as the weather in the North of Scotland is very cold with frequent snow showers and a strong northerly wind, wind chill temperature - 7C.
Thanks so much AlMorr! π€ Iβve got my thermals with me and the beauty of Scotland will keep me warm! I do intend to visit in real life too! π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώπβ€οΈ
Was wondering just yesterday, how you are doing. Glad work is settling down. Just becoming more familiar helps, a brand new job is hard til youβre settled in. 100 miles to go. Youβll do it, I know you will. May the wind be in your favour π¬π
Thanks so much for thinking of me BTP!! π€ Iβm pleased that I can at least say, I have not stood still, (just about!), but also itβs not over unless I give up! Which, Iβm just not going to do! πͺπ½Happy running BTP!!β€οΈ
Hello! ππ½ππ£ and Happy Easter Break! So good to hear from you, Iβve been missing reading about your LIVE TOUR exploits!
But it sounds like your doing brilliantly! Whilst doing a high pressure job, youβve managed to clock in the miles to get you 100 miles short off the finishing line!
In my book, thatβs something that you can be proud of! For comparison, this ultra-slow joggler (me) still has 613 miles to go! (But managed to clock my first 10k this Easter)
Fab! How lovely to see you pop back up. β€οΈ Gosh, it sounds like youβve been busy as work. I hope youβre able to get some more time for yourself - now that spring is finally here and there are more daylight hours for us to enjoy, hopefully thatβll make it easier. π€
Hey, donβt let old Sarge get to you. Donβt forget you have until August to get to JOG! Youβll make it and believe me, the medal is well worth it. ππ
Take lots of care. Itβs so good to hear from you! π
Thanks so much Cheeky!! π€ So lovely to hear from you too!! Well done for completing LEJOG!! Never doubted that for a second. Youβre amazing! π₯°Yes...π£π£π£! Itβs a wonderful time of year, so hereβs to the last 100 being full of good old self indulgence and fun! πβ€οΈ
Canβt wait to read your triumphant JOG post Fab! Have fun on your final leg! π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ π
Hello Fabulous! π Lovely to read one of your posts again. I know itβs been busy for you with a whirlwind new job etc, so itβs good to read you are carving out a bit of time for yourself. Itβs been a rather up and down few months for me too, but hopefully on the uptick now as well. I also did a mile logging binge on LEJOG ππΌββοΈ. Just over 100 miles to go for me too. Meet you at the finish line π xx
ππ½ππ½!! Fantastic Delly-dot!! π₯° So wonderful to hear from you and that youβve done so well!! Good on you! π€ See you at the finish line!! π₯ πΎβ€οΈ
How great to hear from you! Funnily enough the past couple of weeks I've been thinking of messaging you to see how you were - so I'm very glad that you are doing well. That recruitment process sounded wild - you're obviously as phenomenal in real life as you are on the forum to have snagged that post!
I'm not quite half way there on LeJoG so I'm very impressed by those of you who have marched briskly ahead. Looking forwards to hearing of you and Sarge's exploits! π€ πββοΈππββοΈπ
Ah thanks so much nowster!! π It has been a rollercoaster π’ ! After a while, you just have to make a decision, make the space to carry on or give it up! Itβs too torturous not to! π Iβm sure the Sgt Major will be very happy with bossing me around, doing those drills too! ππ½ββοΈ...πβ€οΈ
Great to hear your news - was wondering how you're getting on! Love your positive attitude, it's still there even though you've been swamped with work. Hope the lighter evenings and Spring sunshine (even if chilly - did you get those hailstones this morning?!) will provide you with little pockets of energy and time for some runs. Keep going!π·π»βοΈ
Hey Slinkymalinki! π€π€ Thanks so much! Great to hear from you! π I might have missed the hailstones as I know weβre not too far from each other. Iβve had a lovely lazy day of dozing you see. I did go out for a half hour walk to take in the beautiful sunshine weβve had. The wind was very cold π₯Ά! But I enjoyed it. I think itβs blown off a few cobwebs too! π Iβm so happy itβs spring and Iβm looking forward to having more runs and walks in the sun βοΈ π£! β€οΈ
Hey! Long time no post Fab! Lovely to see you on here again! Congrats on the job, thatβs quite a process but you must be perfect for it to survive that! Shame it impacts on the running so much but looks like youβre doing brilliant anyway. Very nearly there, one more big push πͺπππ
Ah, thanks so much TailChaser!! π€ Covid put a long pause in the process, but it would have still taken almost 3 months regardless. The things we put ourselves through! π Looking back, it was worth it though. Now that things are more settled, I can start to enjoy some more me time and it couldnβt have come at a better time! π£ Light evenings and sunshine! ππ½ π! Hope all is well with you too! π€β€οΈ
Yes! If youβre going to start a new job, the winter is the best time to settle in so you can enjoy the summer. I hope youβve been able to meet your new colleagues in person?
All good here Fab, thanks for asking. Been running like mad people with various challenges but calming down a bit now! πππ
Hi Over62!! ππ½ππ½ Fantastic!! Yes...absolutely, we can celebrate together!! ππ....π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώπ₯πΎ! Now thereβs a party to plan for! πβ€οΈ
Youβve been missed too Fab450! Itβs good to have you back and to know that youβve got this far! Weβll all celebrate with you when you finish that final 100 Miles - crikey, look how far youβve come! That Sgt Maj Garmin keeps getting up to his tricks doesnβt he - I think you may need to threaten him with being demoted to Private if he doesnβt start behaving! Look after yourself - happy running!
Thanks so much Oldgirlruns!!π€ Iβve missed you all too! Sgt Major has been pretty grumpy waiting for me to shift myself more than a mile a day! π... but I like the top tip and Iβll give him the look, if he even starts to get grumpy again!! π€¨ππ½ββοΈ... Heβs a smart man π! I think heβll get the message!πͺπ½πβ€οΈ
So glad got hear from you. Sorry that work has been so overwhelming (π€π»youβve turned a corner) but youβve done a great job if youβre nearly at JOG! I was like you and did a mega-update last month. Iβve not run for ages either but feel itβs just a pause. Hereβs to better weather and getting back out there (with or without Sgt Garmin.
Ah so good to hear from you Sybilw!! π€ The update on LEJOG does rekindle a little fire and motivation. Sgt Major is ready to go!! So go we must!! Enjoy Sybilw!! π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώπβ€οΈ
Hi Fabulous 450 π Itβs good to hear from you again π
Your new job sounds pretty full on but I hope youβre getting to grips with it now and some of it is becoming easier. I understand where youβre coming from as my job is very full on and I struggle to make time to run or anything else to be honest. Iβm on holiday this week and I got up early to work so I can at least have some time with my hubby this afternoon. Iβll do that for the whole week just to catch up on things π. Im too shattered to run most of the time and My Apple Watch shouts at me too π
Just hang on in there and do what you can. Thatβs enough for now and keep up that self care. Itβs so important when life is so overwhelming. Take care x
Ah thank you so much Frizzbomb67! π€ You can get a bit stuck in a rut with creating too many requirements that are just not a reasonable expectation π₯΄! The few days off has allowed me to have a bit of space to look at things differently! So itβs been very welcomed. I had an early finish for me today too! Loving the spring season already! π£ We can build back up as we go along! Enjoy! πβ€οΈ
Great post Fab450. Good to hear things getting back on an even keel. Inspiration and determination are both in that post so really well done after a hard 6 months. πππΈπΈπΆπΆ happy running πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Thanks so much Scruff55! π€ Takes a little push to do a lot of letting go, but Iβm getting there! Happy running is certainly the intention! πβ€οΈ
Glad to read the posts from retread C25k runners. I too am back after a year or so with some muddled running in between. I did week 5 for the second time today and think I might manage to keep going - the brilliant cold sunny day helps. No other goals this time but just to keep at it.
Hey Katnap!! Great to hear from you! π€ It is about rebuilding a routine and feeling light on the run again, so thereβs a little way to go, but hey, Iβm close to JOG now, so a Jogle back is a great idea! πβ€οΈ
