All i knew is that I would like to do more than 5K.
I decided not to do a guided run but to just enjoy the run and the music (Pink Floyd )
I was not interested in pace or splits but just wanted to run and enjoy the process.
The weather was perfect !
A nice gentle cool breeze as I set off.
this run felt comfortable from the start and it made me glad that I have been getting back into it slowly and gently.
I certainly feel that has helped .
The Km's were ticked off quite comfortably as I kept to a nice gentle pace
I often surprise myself just how a slight reduction in pace can make such a difference to the feel of a run .
When I got to 5k I was undecided how far to go , shall I do 6 or 7.5 ,. 8 or even 10k
I decided against 8 or 10 as that was too much of a jump from what I have been doing recently so quickly decided on the 7.5 also knowing that would probably be around a 1 hour run .
I got there with fuel left in the tank which felt good , and as always , pleased to have done the run.
Mr Garmin in his wisdom decided to make me another year younger π

We have been struggling so every time we go out we donβt make a plan just run and see how we feel, steadily our fitness age has been decreasing so must be doing something right
I think that's exactly the thing to do !I had quite some time of infrequent running so felt the first thing I needed to do was build the frequency up again , having done that now I hope to keep mixing things up again with the occasional longer run .
Well done! I must get me one of these Garmins - everyone seems to be getting younger by the hour π. So pleased you had a nice comfortable run, I totally agree about the slowing down of pace. ππββοΈ
Nice one! I'm with you, when I started using hr zones to guide my running, suddenly I found I could actually enjoy the run itself. How kind of Mr Garmin to lower your fitness age again! Fab to see that steady building up in distance, I'm sure you'll be back where you were before you know it ππππ
"I often surprise myself just how a slight reduction in pace can make such a difference to the feel of a run ."
This precisely. Also, how a subtle adjustment to your gait and stance can make your legs feel more like springs, and you find yourself bouncing along with a little less effort.
Well done Ian! πππ That sounds like the perfect run - and you had more left in the tank too so even better. πThis run sounds identical to the one I want for myself on Saturday! I want to build my distance up again. I'm getting my jab Saturday evening so I need to run at the weekend before that just in case
Well done you youngster!!! Absolutely fantastic. Lol the bunny has a long leg!! Such a joy to read your posts and hear you are really enjoying running again.
Hi Ian,Felt very tired this week, I think if I had a Mr Garmen he would be telling me I am 98 ππ€£ππ!!! Certainly feeling very slow πππππ but am keeping up with daily steps and the running so all good.
It is really frustrating, I was always on the go. I have never experienced fatigue like this before. Although I do have the odd days where I feel more like βmeβ so I am very grateful for that and am lucky.
Yes that really is such a joy so glad I have restarted C25K canβt believe starting week 3 already x
Let's hope the days that you feel like "You" start to be more frequent ! I'm sure they will and you will get there , and yes , back to week 3 π¬πx
