I completed c25k back last summer and a goal was to reach 10k but after 5k I always stopped, but today for some reason I felt I could go to 6, then 7 and before I knew it was at 10k! I am slow so it was 1hr 17mins.
Quick question if anyone can help I use Runkeeper but find I have to fix the GPS and run a little further to compensate - is there any good ways to track pace. I have tried MapMyRun and Strava but found RunKeeper to track distance better. I think it I could see my pace slacking it would motivate me to go a little faster. I use run keeper but have it in my pocket when running. Maybe there’s a setting I’m not utilising at the moment.

Not sure about Runkeeper but a big congratulations on completing your first 10K, that time is not too slow.To get your graduation badge and the word GRADUATE10 next to your username leave a message in the pinned posts on the right side of the healthunlocked March Graduate10 homepage and tell the administrators that you have ran your first 10K. 😊 🏃🏾
Yay! Well done! Not too shabby at all! I too have been striving to reach the elusive 10k since graduation. I know I'll get there .... But enjoying my runs regardless. Happy 10k ing,🏃🏃♀️🎉
Well done on your 1st 10k! You’re faster than me...mind you, that’s not too difficult 😂
I use Strava and Runkeeper...I find Runkeeper will tell you it’s pausing, so what you see is what you get. I’m sure Strava does the same...but *doesn't* tell you.
You will see ‘time elapsed’ and ‘moving time’. More noticeable if you’re running to time, not distance.
I think also that it has been mentioned on here that when in a race, sometimes the apps distances are less than the official distances...ie sometimes you just have to keep running!
Just stick to one (or 2) apps, and be consistent with them. I’ve had a few technical malfunctions, so I’m a little over cautious 😂
Strava and Fitbit for the runs, Runkeeper and Map My Run for the whole routes, including warm up and cool down walks. (MMR is in miles because I’m old school!)
Congratulations on your first 10K - that is brilliant!!!! A none too shabby time either (faster than me, at any rate.... 🤣🤣🤣)
I have a Garmin watch that synchs to the Garmin Connect software and that in turn shares the data with Strava. Apparently GPS watches are the most accurate and I can choose what to look at on the watch face when I'm running - I usually have run time, distance and pace showing. It gives me an alert if I slow down too much as well. You might think about treating yourself at some point? If you go for an older model you can pick up some bargains.
Huge congratulations on your amazing achievement getting to 10k. Can’t really comment on your app issue as I use a smart watch and phone app which I find quite reliable. 👍
That's amazing, many congratulations! 🎉🤸♀️🥳💪 I used to use runkeeper but I stopped once I got my Garmin. I seem to remember there was a way of getting audio updates during your run to give you info on pace, I guess somewhere in settings? I've just realised that is not particularly helpful 🙈
I would not say that is slow at all Mackers! Congratulations ☺️
Congratulations on your 10k 👍😁 I used to use MapMyRun when I started c25k sort of ok with occasional GPS problems - moved to a Garmin 245 and haven’t looked back - far better GPS tracking and a host of stats.
If you're using mapping software to plan routes, be aware that there can be a few percent difference between what the maps show and what you'll measure with GPS tracking, with GPS usually measuring it as a shorter distance.
Hey for your first 10km, thats not bad at all! Like @Couchphoenix above I use the Nike Run App because the guided runs are brilliant and Ive learnt so much about running. However if you use the app and just set a distance or time rather than a guided run, it will give you your stats ,at every 1km. 😀🏃♀️
