Thanks MD, yes just one of those runs. So happy not just about the 10k but about the enjoyment level of the run itself too.
What a comeback Lorijay! Super congrats. I was searching for your post as I was wondering if you were down in the dumps about your park run. Nope, you were out running your 10km. Fantabulous time too. Did you run on roads?
Thanks Paula. Was a little rattled after Saturdays run, more concerned that asthma was going to beccome a feature but so pleased to say not a sign today.
I run along one of the canal paths in Birmingham, concrete/tarmac.
Not even a whimper from my knee which is great, left hamstring a little nagging but nothing of consequence. Will give it an ice tonight.
I'm slowly catching up. I have an 8km road race on August 11th so I'll do 7.5km in the french heat this weekend to prepare for that. Any plans for a 10km run/race?
Oh you will have to run early with the French heat. Got a couple of 5k races in September and booked Birmingham 10k for April next year. Booked this before having done it but now I'm thinking of looking for another one a bit sooner, but really want to consolidate first.
8K race sounds good, that would be a nice distance too. Is it local to you?
Great running, it's funny how it all comes together like that sometimes. Here's hoping that becomes the norm Feet up for a day or so then out to repeat it a few times and consolidate
Thanks Pink, yes this running business is very unpredictable but so happy with today's run. I will defintiely heed the advice and rest with a view to back out on Saturday.
I feel very positive about the distance just seemed to be able to really get into a zone with the longer run.
Thank you Rulla. I am using Runkeeper, will probably head over to Strava now though as have running buddies over there but I've had no problem with Runkeeper to date.
You are doing great if you are on W6 and a very achievable goal that will see the big dream come to fruition. Well done you, keep it up. I started C25K end of March, never run before, so you will do it too.
I have been away lots. First as an assistant cook, cooking for a camp of 110 in North Wales. Then due to work leaving do's for my husband in London. Running took a break. Just one mini run at leaving do time, and now two runs since I have been back. But! Guess what?!! I shall be in Edgbaston tomorrow watching cricket (a gift for my husband from my daughter) and then in Moseley at my daughter's. Are you planning to run early Friday morning? I don't drive my husband's large car, but name a place and time and perhaps I could run and meet you!!!! You probably have other commitments on Friday but I had to ask when I saw the map of your 10k run! Of course I have not run further than 6k, so not attempted your dizzy heights (or should that be dizzy lengths) distance of 10k. I could even wear my new blue C25k running top to help you spot me! It has only just arrived and I planned to wear it for my first park run on Saturday 11th August.
Oh 61 I've just seen your post, I would have loved that but I'm not running on Friday as doing park run on Saturday. I would have loved that. Please let me know when you are going to be back in the area and we'll plan a run, would really like to meet up
Hi Lorijay, Thank you for your reply. Just back from the cricket. A mixed day for England, but that is England! All the best for your Parkrun. I hope I don't find an excuse not to complete my first Parkrun, before my husband and I are due away again. I am sure to be back visiting my daughter one day, although she has a lodger moving in at the W/E which will have an effect on sleeping arrangements! I look forward to meeting you one day!
Brilliant Lorijay , Iβm not surprised youβre still buzzing, I would be too...what a fantastic acheivement...itβs great when you set off & everything just falls into place & you have one of those runs...may you buzz all week xxx
Oh thank you Bev. Although feeling tired tonight more to do with work than the run, every now and again I remember the run and start smiling, feels nice.
I see that you are very close to your 10k too, all the best, know you will nail it!! Hope you are having a lovely holiday.
Working & running, I donβt know how anyone does both!! Phew, tires me out thinking about it! Iβm not far off 10k now, a bit behind everyone else but still plodding towards the finish line....my holiday is lovely, 5 weeks in France, tourist running, messing about with the kids in the pool, chateaus, castles, vineyards, Disneyland, whatβs not to like eh?? Got to make the most of it all xxx
I donβt know, I take a few days off and look what happens. Congratulations Lorijay- Iβm so pleased that youβve done your 1st 10k and have got a new shiny badge already. It sounds like you just flowed into that distance, despite feeling that everything was against you on Saturday. Yay ππββοΈπ€ΈββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπΎπ₯βοΈπ«π π
Oh brave you, I have avoided hills like the plague but I know I have to bite the bullet and man up or woman up for that matter..(considering it is centennial year)
Oh thank you LL. You know it does feel like a huge milestone. It sort of feels like so many options are available and just the satisfaction of achieving it.
