Yes you read that correctly!! I wanted to let you know after much deliberating and trying to get myself back running with long Covid symptoms, I have committed to doing C25K again and hoping in 9 weeks I will be back running 5k. ππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈ
This afternoon I completed Week One, Run One!! I just couldnβt bring myself to restart my C25K app as I didnβt want to lose my history, means so much to me therefore, I am just replaying the runs from each week and taking a picture of the message on screen saying I have completed the run!
It felt wonderful to be back out there and safe having the support of the app. All went well and thankfully I did not experience any chest tightness, which I had been when trying to do it on my own, so this is me starting again π»πΎπ’ π π»πΎπ’ π π»πΎπ’ π π»πΎπ’ π !!!
I must admit I did shed a tear after completing it π’π’ Although I wonβt be able to run the Vitality 10K in May as I had planned to do when I ran my last 10k on 30th December, hopefully I will be running 5k again, which will be sooooooooooo amazing ππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈ.
Thank you so much for all your support.
Week one, run one completed!!
Happy Running ππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈEveryone x

Yooz Rebecca have Vavavoom great to see you back in trainers π₯³π
You'll have that 5k distance back pretty soon Rebecca, returning to the C25k plan is a clever tactic π€, and if it gets you through without experiencing chest tightness that's a huge bonus π.
You've done it before πͺ, 2nd time around it's just the same π, don't over pressurize yourself though!!!
Thank you so much Ian and for all your support. Yes I think this is the sensible thing to do as last time I was left feeling so frustrated and scared by the chest tightness.
If I can run 5k again in 9 weeks I will be so delighted.
Fantastic, Rebecca! Thatβs great that you have decided to do the programme again. Iβm sure youβll rest well in between runs so you donβt overdo it. Youβre determined to get your fitness back and I know you will succeed π x
Thank you so much Julia and for all your support means so much. Yes I will do and I wonβt run on the days I am working. I just canβt let this beat me I miss running so much. Take care ππ»π x
Yes exactly, I have tried myself but didnβt get on so well at least this gives me structure which I love and hope. Lol at least this time on my run I felt that I loved it!!
Thank you so much ππ»πΎππ’
Hope you and Willow are both well. Enjoy your next run x
Go you - great decision! You've come through a horrendous illness so taking it slow and gentle is a great way to come back. You are in good company - there are a surprising number of comeback kids on the forum at the moment - including myself! I have no doubt this will help your respiratory rehab and let you reclaim the magic at the same time.
Massive Well Done to you and all the other comeback kids on the forum, so inspiring to hear that πβοΈπβοΈπβοΈπβοΈπβοΈπβοΈπβοΈ Thank you so much πππ so lucky to have this forum Such a wonderful support.
Been wondering how you by were getting on after Covid- great to hear you're back out there again- you've had a tough time!-all the very best for the next journey- take care and take it slowly, you'll get there. πΌπΊπ»
Aw that is so kind of you Teresa thank you so much. I am back to working two earlys shifts a week I am very slow unfortunately but am getting there. Take care x
Brilliant news that you are running again after everything you have been through. Doing the program again will do then trick - you know it works - and sounds the sensible thing to do.
There will be plenty more 10k races waiting for you and I'm sure you will get your fitness back as you are so determined.
You are an inspiration Rebecca, Iβm so pleased to hear you managed to get out there for a run today....take it nice and gradual now ok and Iβm sure youβll be hitting 5k in no time. Well Done ππ» ππ» xx
Thank you so much, so kind of you. I will do coach!π! Feeling so positive and hopeful. Will sign up for Race at your Pace once I graduate πͺπͺπͺ and get some bling!!
Yes the Race at Your Pace are lovely medals. Iβve just received my February one π
Have you used the Nike Run Club App? theyβve got lots of coached runs on there of various times and distances and if you need to stop, the workout automatically pauses. There are short runs on there which may help you rather than repeating C25k, itβs free too. x
Aw how lovely, massive well done πππ you are doing fantastic. I saw a picture of Teresaβs medal it is really nice.
Yes I have that app have not used it yet will have a look though. I really enjoy the structure of the C25K and because of the chest tightness I need to take it so slowly. I think because I know it works I feel safe following it again and I will stick to the structure, otherwise I tend to want to do to much to soon and I end up failing. Last time I got up to jogging 2 x 5 minutes jogs and the tightness was bad and it really scared me so hoping doing this slowly will work but I will check out the runs on the app.
That's great news Rebecca, that you've been able to get out running again, after such a tough time, and glad it went ok, no ill effects, probably felt quite strange, not surprised you were a bit emotional too. π€
Great to hear you are back on your running journey again π. I started the C25K again after covid but only did run 3 of each week. I improved quickly but was fortunate not to have any long covid symptoms. I am now back to 4K although much more slowly than before. I hope you find the same thing. Just take it easy
Hi Frizzbomb, thank you so much. Wow, that is fantastic, massive well done to you βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈThat is brilliant that you are back to running 4K ππππ what a great achievement, that is wonderful you improved so quickly.
Sounds like a wise decision to make 9weeks2Run after being so poorly. Wishing you all the best with doing the plan again and your recovery! πππ»
Thank you so much Indielass that is so kind of you. Sorry to read on another post that you are injured, hope you will be able to get back running again soon. I know how frustrating it is. Take care
Thank you! Iβm being sensible and taking all the time I need until I come back. I might even redo the C25K if I have to have a few months off.
I think you are a great role model to others that you are starting again from the beginning. Not an easy decision to make Iβm sure but you show that you are looking after yourself and listening to what your body needs.
That is a good plan Indielass so important to take it slowly and be kind to yourself.
Aw thank you so much. I have loved running and this forum and so want to be able to continue running. C25K is such a brilliant plan and we all know it works.
Be gentle with yourself, it's scary when your lungs don't work the way they should. You'll get there π πββοΈπββοΈ Hope your mum is better too.
Good to read this, you are Inspirational. I think running makes us mentally tougher and Iβm sure this will see you through to that 5k before long. Slowly slowly π¦₯π
Very best wishes on and for your return. When I started that programme, you were one of the βolderβ c25k-ers and such an awesome inspiration. And you are again as you show the determination and courage to restart and rebuild. You know the advice: slow, steady, and always listen to your body.
Aww thank you so much GailXrunning that is so very kind of you πππ.
Congratulations on your 60 minute graduation π fantastic, you are doing amazing.
I read through the C25K week by week plan yesterday and just thought how wonderful it would be if I could run for that amount of time again, I just knew I had to do it again. Omg if I am back to 5k in 9 weeks I will be thrilled.
Good to see you back and great choice to use c25k to build up your strength again. Youβve been so poorly taking it slow is the best way forward. Be patient and kind to yourself and listen to your body good luck. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Ahh Rebecca. Soooo good to hear you're able to get out and run again after going through so much. Long Covid is an invisible thing so do take care and look after yourself during your recovery C25k. You'll be at 5k by May and running in the beautiful spring weather. We're all routing for you on this forum so go girl - you can do it!!! x πππ
Well done Rebecca, so pleased to see that you feel well enough to go back to work and start running again. Sounds like a very good idea to redo C25k...after all, we all know it works!

We thankfully know a lot more about post viral stuff than we did thirty years ago, but we're only gradually finding out about the side effects of this particular virus and its variants.
Take it at your own pace and don't let the "yuk" days put you off. π
