Gorgeous blue skies and sunshine have returned β˜€οΈβ˜€οΈβ˜€οΈ

Beautiful but absolutely β€˜Baltic β€˜ πŸ₯ΆπŸ₯ΆπŸ₯Ά

Wish I’d checked the temperature BEFORE I left the house πŸ™„πŸ˜‚ ( 1c feels like -3c it said , and it did !). I think I was seduced by the sunshine and lack of a gale πŸ’¨πŸ’¨πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I am also so totally paranoid over my warm ups these days that these exercises plus my increasing levels of faffing about eventually lead me to lose patience with myself and almost chuck myself out in the end πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ˜‚

As such my fingers and ears were freezing without my hat & gloves ( the ones I swear I never need when I do take them and that are often pushed into a hedge to pick up on the way back πŸ§£πŸ§€πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ)

Anyway, it’s the first run that I’ve continued to feel cold on πŸ₯ΆπŸ₯Ά

I took a slightly different route up through a bit of the village for a Km and then down past the shore towards to the Lighthouse road to avoid doubling back a bit to get the 4K done on that stretch of road.

I took just one rest day instead of the two which had been part of my β€˜being sensible plan’ . The two previous runs had gone well so I thought I’d give it a try but keep the same distance and try and keep a steady pace .

It all went well but in all honesty 4K was just fine , I had no desire to do more but I think I probably can . That’s for next week tho’.

Maybe it was the cold but I was happy to finish up and walk briskly ( not my usual meandering ) home and get a coffee β˜•οΈβ˜•οΈOr two πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Still felt great about the run and made sure there was plenty of post run stretching but it took awhile to warm back up πŸ₯ΆπŸ₯Ά

I think I must be getting back to semi normal though because the old thoughts of β€˜why is it that I want to do this ?’ and β€˜oh this is a bit hard, maybe 2K will do β€˜ were replacing all the thoughts focused on my calf πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Ran to episode 3 of Renegades: Born in the USA

Obama and Springsteen in conversation , this one on American Music was excellent and reminded me of how much of the music I listened to in the late 60’s and 70’ S was American . Tamla Motown, Everly Brothers, Eagles, Springsteen, Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne and on and on .

Meanwhile they were also being influenced by the Beatles the Stones , Clapton etc.

Anyway a great listen, a good run and let’s see if I can do sensible again next week .

Have a great weekend everyone , enjoy your runs , wrap up if it’s cold and remember to incorporate a longer pre run stretch when it’s Baltic πŸ₯ΆπŸ₯ΆπŸ₯Ά

There, how’s that for sensible πŸ‘ŒπŸ€£πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡

Sounds very sensible!πŸ‘

It’s terrible when it takes forever to warm up. I have a woollen headband...keeps my ears warm, and when I get too hot I can loop it through a sleeve...I’ve generally taken off a long sleeved top by now and tied it around my waist πŸ˜¬πŸ™„πŸ˜‚

Glad to see you’re now faffing about the length of your run and not worrying too much about your calf πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

Good luck for the next run πŸŒπŸ’πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸŽΆπŸ₯°

You’re on a comeback roll!! Sounded like a good, steady run and with less worries going forward about your calf, the more you’ll get your confidence and fitness back without even realising it. Must be a great feeling to be out there just running 🦌🦌🦌 Now then, you know not to slack off those stretches and warm ups now you’re starting to have fun again πŸ€”

Yes , today was a reminder that any run is a good run πŸ‘ŒπŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Also it was so cold before I got the heating on that it reminded me your muscles can get β€˜extra cold’ by late afternoon so extra warm up might have prevented this πŸ™„

I tend to exercise in the morning , then warm up stretches , then run , you lose all that if you don’t actually run until laterπŸ™„πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

and, as I found out, 5 minutes just doesn’t β€˜cut it’ πŸ˜”πŸ™„
