Back to work at last!!!

Well, it's been a slightly longer christmas break than normal, finished on 11th Dec, going back tomorrow, been a very strange time, with everything that's gone on, my running for pancreatic cancer in jan, every other day, certainly helped, then Feb arrived, and everything changed, one way or another! πŸ˜₯

Still got my mum's funeral to get through, next thur, but will be good to get back into a sort of normal routine again, whatever normal will be. πŸ€”

Anyway, another 5k today, blew away a few more cobwebs, and the groin/hip 🀞 seems to be feeling better, each run now, might be doing some after work evening runs now.

Glad the groin/hip is still holding up. Being back in work will help bring some sense of normality back, but I guess next week is something you just need to get through.

The running will help - do what you can, when you can. But above all be kind to yourself.

Take care Perter πŸ€—

Well done for today’s faster 5K and good the hip/groin is behaving.

Next week is going to be difficult to get through. Wish I could say something to make it easier.

Thanks Jools, sadly in our family, we're getting used to it, but just have to keep going, bit like running really!

No, i'm not that clever, or have the patience, I drive coaches, which at the moment, is just taking kids, to and from private schools near here.

Ah had to be something in education, I used to drive a 16 seater mini bus sometimes and anyone who can drive a coach is really clever

You’ll be back at work a week,be tired out and feel like you were never off! But getting back will give you something to focus on and then when you get home your runs will feel like a real treat. Well done for taking it steady and keeping them short and I hope your plans for your mum go smoothly x

Thanks Bambi, i know what you mean, was like that when we went back late august last year, few weeks in, almost forgot we'd been of for 5 months, our schools dont start till tue/thur, next week, so wont be rushing about too much, then we'll be of again for easter.

You sound upbeat after the torrid time you’ve had one way or the other Peter. Obviously your mum’s funeral will be hard, but hopefully you can treasure your lovely memories of her and slowly begin to heal. I’ll be thinking of you. Take lots of care, and keep running. It helps. πŸ₯°

Thank you for your kind words, will definately keep running, as long as everything keeps working, it is very sad, but also a big relief, as life for my mum hadn't been good, losing her two daughters to cancer, so i know she's now in a better place.

So pleased for you Peter, work is back on and routine can be such a salve in these precarious times. Will help you for next week, too I imagine. Something else to think about with emotions up and down and the sadness of losing your mum. So glad your runs feeling good as you get back to it, albeit tentatively. Good!! 🦌🦌

I'm doing my best to get fit Peter, next level of exercises are under way and I'm up to 3k walks 😁 and I'll be building up the running a little more steadily than the first time- I have the whole experience to look forward to all over again πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Littleoyellow

Well that sounds promising, i sometimes think it's easier to run a 10k, than having to be patient, and rest these injuries, i'm sure you'll feel better for the break, and come back even stronger. 🀞

I've no doubt you will Littleoyellow, and probably much stronger, for your enforced break, i know our injuries are different, but i feel the rest has done me alot of good. ☺

Lovely news about you going back to work, hopefully it'll offer you some routine to your day.

Good to hear that afew cobwebs have been blown off too. Keep up the great work, just remember to let your body repair and rest.

I hope next Thursday goes OK, as much as it can.

Thank you Becclesbug, yes good to get back to work, in what's been such a mad 12 months, for everyone, and we all know how running, has been such a help, both physically, and mentaly, and nice to see your doing so well with it too! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜Š

Well done Peter, great to read you were able to complete 5k without the hip/groin trouble. The running will help you as much as it helped me. Going back to work is very strange, but after a few days you’ll begin to settle back in and the routine will help you too.

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Couchphoenix

Thanks CP, was good to get today, out the way, and hopefully get back to a normalish routine, will be keeping the runs, short, and better spaced out, i know i definately over did things in jan, lesson learnt the hard way! ☹
