Morning runners! A lovely crisp Sunday morning and I was out while it was still dark and the moon was enormous and amazing looking π decided on a 10k and set off at a steady pace and have to admit battled a few gremlins for the first 3km trying to to get me to stop and head home! Not today gremlins π€£! Once they had got the message I wasn't giving up they buggered off and let me enjoy the run, conditions with the sun coming up were perfect and let me keep a good pace up to halfway. At this stage I was expecting to feel tired as I have been lately but I felt good so I happily kept the foot on the gas as I ran a now very familiar route. I didn't even notice the usually tricky uphill section at around 8k, this could be very good i thought π€ last 2k I took off the break and moved up a gear, saving my 2 fastest Kms for the very end π. Finished at 59 minutes and 4 seconds which is my 3rd fastest 10k ever and easily my quickest in a while. More importantly it felt good after the initial gremlin fight and I enjoyed it ππ»π
The last day of the month saw me visit the scales for the last time in a while, came in at 81kg so 12st7 ish, not too bothered and won't be touching the scales now until end of march at the earliest.
Today also marked another month without booze, not touched a drop since December 28th and this is easily the longest I've gone without alcohol since I was about 14.
Plans for March... Well we have the COGH challenge to start which I'm really looking forward to ππ» I think another month off the drink isn't out of the question and stick to a healthy ish diet try to make some inroads into the extra stone I'd like to lose. I think il certainly up my running game in March, i did a lot of 5ks this month and will turn them all into 10s in March when possible.
I hope everyone's had a good weekend, enjoy your Sunday ππ»
