Shoes - decisions... anyone use ASICS Gel-Kayano?

Just started feeling jarring through my ASICS GT2000 v8 and looking at the soles there’s only a couple of months left in them - probably covered 400ish km.

Hoping to push them into May when hopefully the sports shops will be open.

However I’m thinking if I have to change them on-line so to speak wether to go for the GT2000 V9 or the gel-kayano 27

Wondering if anyone here has any experience of the later shoe and wants to share there views. Also open to suggestions on other suitable road shoes with support for over-pronation.

Thanks 🤩

The Kayano is considered the King 👑 of the Asics support shoes!I had a couple of pairs which I loved and ran many happy miles in. I only changed shoes following an injury which involved nerve damage and changed my gait(😱).My magic shoes now are Hoka Arahis but they too have several stability shoes worth checking out.Good luck! 🙂

I have ASICS kayano 26 these are my first running shoes so I have nothing to compare with, but I love them, I've had no pain/injuries, at 400km there's some slight wear on the soles and my big toe has started to poke through the top, but I'd still buy them again, interestingly as my toes been poking through I've been looking at what's available online and not finding anything of a good price in kayano, I've come across the gt2000, and there's a roughly £50 price hike to the kayano so it's a bit of a jump.

Thanks, was debating treating myself as they are fairly expensive.

Got uneven wear between L&R on my current ones, so I’m going to try and push them on until the local running shop is allowed to reopen so I can get an opinion on what I’m doing to cause it.

Hi Reggit, I have the gel-kayano 27, they give great support for over pronation, I love them, I replaced my old gel-kayano’s last year, they were the original gel-kayano that I bought 27 years ago and as you can see lasted years! ( I should add I only ran in them for a few years in total) They have now been demoted to walking shoes and are still very wearable.
