Energy levels distinctly low today and the couch felt extra comfy, ๐but I havenโt had a run for a few days and seeing an improvement in the weather including a brief appearance by the sun โ ๏ธ (remember that) I had to get out there.
Chose the NRC 6k run, which seemed just right, but at the start the old legs felt a bit heavy, however as the run progressed I settled in and it began to feel a bit more comfortable. Managed to complete the 6k. Walked up the hill and having reached the top and caught my breath, opted for a 2k run to get me home.
Half way through this I noticed a bush which someone had put a leather glove on the end of one of the branches of....and thought....๐ค even Mother Nature is offering to shake my hand and say Well Done today ! ๐ค ๐
Anyway enough of this nonsense, as always Iโm really glad I made the effort, hard at first though it was, the feeling afterwards made it all worthwhile.
CP 8K is good! The feel good factor after is definitely worth it too! You might not have felt like your energy levels were much but you still went out and ran 8K!
You could have stayed at home but you didnโt. Remember that ! Lecture over ๐.
Ps not intending to lecture just a friendly reminder you did good! x
Aaahhh thatโs ok I donโt mind you lecturing me ๐ Iโm always glad I made the effort, just had hot shower and a roast dinner so lifeโs good ๐๐โโ๏ธ
Also I found this from what I mentioned the other day ๐. Turns out Bruce should have just stuck to acting but hey he still pulled it off with his charm and good looks! youtu.be/WTIG_eqR8PY
Absolutely. You can't diss Bruce Willis. How many men do you know who look good in clothes ripped to shreds and covered in sweat, dirt and dried blood ๐คท๐
It was good thanks CP! ๐ Healthy recipe but yummy ! The wine was not healthy then again Prosecco has bubbles and itโs one of your five a day in it! ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Exactly Prosecco is fizzy grape juice ๐ฅ definitely one of your 5 a day ๐ weโve been having Prosecco lately, I enjoy a glass of that.....very nice ๐
Cheers BL64 it was very posh, that wasnโt just a roast dinner that was an M&S Roast Dinner, with all the trimmings, a treat from my step daughter, very nice it was too๐ ๐
Thanks GH Iโve noticed the congratulatory glove before and itโs always made me smile, so thought Iโd include it in my post today....bit of fun๐ turned out to be a good run in the end, nice weather this afternoon ๐๐โโ๏ธ
Iโve noticed it on a previous run, some kind soul has stuck it on there hoping the owner sees it, itโs been there a while. Always makes me smile when I see it so I thought Iโd include it in todayโs post. Always feel good after a run ๐๐โโ๏ธ
Cheers Peter, bit of an effort as Iโve felt knackered the last few days, slept a lot, but glad I made the effort today worth it in the end. Youโll get back out there, give yourself time. ๐๐โโ๏ธ
Well thatโs the way I see it too Jools, youโve got that journey home, so might as well tag another run on to get you there, might be psychological but I prefer that sometimes, feels easier, like that 2k is a bonus ๐
It was GTFC who suggested it to me, but initially it was really for when I was doing intervals and felt that the time spent doing them wasnโt long enough. He said why donโt I do the intervals first, then stop the watch and then start a new run to jog for a few kms. I liked it so much that I do it for other runs, too! And it does feel that the second run is a bonus, because weโd normally be walking home!
Thanks LMW ๐ it was really tough at the start, but lovely to be out there, I love the fresh air, then it got a little easier as it went on, although I can feel Iโm still nowhere near 100%. Iโm planning on returning to work next week, thatโll be a shock to the system ๐ฌ
Great run CP I could feel the sun from your write up ๐ฌ๐ and glad you've had some fun today. Well done on the extra 2k and here's a wave ๐ instead of a glove ๐
Thanks Littleoyellow, glad I brought you a bit of sunshine ๐ Iโve spotted that glove on previous runs and it always makes me smile, so I thought Iโd give it itโs moment of fame today in my post ๐
Hey, I did the same today!- could've given up after 4 mins but managed 8k aswell- it was a slog to start with even though the sun was shining. Glad you got out there and felt good for doing it- I did!๐
Hey you ! thatโs a coincidence isnโt it....well done to the both of us ๐๐ I think everyone seems to be struggling lately for various reasons. I kept going but caught site of my shadow on the road early on and I looked some old boy shuffling along, which made me instantly improve my form and probably my run in general! ๐
Oh yes!- I did that aswell!- saw a shadow that looked like some old biddy bent over- it was ME!- It soon made me straighten up and look at the tree tops instead of the floor!- amazing the shadows you see when the sun's shining!๐
Yep, proves we can do it!- just gotta hold on to that thought when we're struggling.
Well done Couchphoenix! That was how I felt these last few days. I havenโt ran since Sunday. Having migraine yesterday and Wednesday I havenโt felt like it. I normally run Wednesday Friday and Sunday so perhaps I might just get out today. Although as you mentioned the sofa looks pretty comfy.Iโm going to try to get out this morning ......I wonder if Iโll see anything unusual in the hedges around here๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค๐คฃ๐คฃ!
Hi Couchphoenix thanks for your message of support. However Iโm afraid I didnโt get out today or tomorrow as the rain just keeps on coming......I know what your thinking what a woos ! and rightly so but when I woke up this morning it was pouring down and stayed like that for most of the day. However there is a window of opportunity on Sunday so thatโs my plan.Today was spent singing, guitar playing and recording my songs so all was not lost and tomorrow will be the same.Looking forward to Sunday though!๐๐โโ๏ธ
Thats ok, I donโt think youโre a woos at all, I avoid the pouring rain myself, no pleasure in going out in that. You sound very talented, playing a guitar, composing songs and singing too ๐ hopefully the weather will improve soon.
Thanks Couchphoenix. I have been playing the guitar for years off and on but only really got back into it seriously since I retired from the NHS. (two years in May) I have more time now to concentrate on my singing and playing the guitar and dabbling in writing my own songs.
Half of our spare bedroom is my music studio which I have set up myself with the help of my hubby bless him I call him my sound engineer, I just love it.๐ค๐ฒ๐ฒ
I sing mainly folk ,like Joni Mitchell , Bob Dylan ,Kate Rusby and the like but my favourite is geordie and Scottish folk songs.
Itโs nice to do something creative, well done you.
Iโm not talented in that way, but I have made scratch built models, I made a model of Hamleys Toyshop which has been displayed in my wifeโs office and last Christmas my office, people loved it and I found that very satisfying to know I created it. A different kind of creative but very enjoyable.
Wow! Thatโs brilliant Couchphoenix ๐a lot of patience was required I bet. Good for you and your right itโs great to be able to something creative. Iโve always enjoyed singing. Before the lockdown I was looking at open mic nights in local areas sadly I never got to go to any. Hopefully that will change when weโve all come out of the lockdown so at the moment Iโm in the process of making my own album. You know just for friends and family ๐๐คฃ๐คฃ
I think itโs all about a sense of personal achievement especially at this time.
Thanks Rebecca ๐ bit of slog at first but got better. Glad you liked the congratulatory glove ๐งค bit of fun, it always makes me smile when I see it ๐
