Like a kid on Xmas morning

Good morning runners, happiest of Mondays to you all! Yesterday unfortunately saw the end of my run/walk everyday for February plan, it was simply too dangerous! I'd walked the previous day with the Mrs and we both nearly fell on numerous occasions so reluctantly I canceled yesterday's run.

I felt awful all day!

Today I woke up early, my legs were already doing some pre stretches! They knew 🤣. I jumped out of bed and bounced excitedly down to the loo, the sky was already getting light (come on spring!) Couldn't see any of the white stuff on surrounding rooftops 😁

I'm off downstairs excitedly, give the dog her morning cuddles and let her out the back....no snow left!! So happy!

Kit on and out the door in double quick time, warm up walk and some stretches and I was off! For one of the heaviest legged runs I've had in a long time 🤣 even thought about stopping on a number of occasions for about the first 7km but then something just clicked and the last 3km felt right and easy.

The distances I was covering in January feel a long long way off but I could have kept going longer, gonna stick to between 5 and 10k this month as planned though, more for research reasons with how my distances tie in with the weight loss. Shorter/faster Vs longer/slower kind of thing.

Probably also back to posting more frequently, I like a bit of run chat and a weekly round up is just not cutting it 🤣

I hope everybody well and the guys and gals on the IC are close to a return 🤞🏻

Happy running 👍🏻

Don’t feel bad about yesterday. You know you’d have run/walked were it possible. + We all know you’d have done so too. It was dangerous - and that means it doesn’t count as an ‘Every day’ in the EED. That you managed the other days is a step beyond, with each day counting as two. That means there’s plenty in your metaphorical running bank. That’s the way to see it. So, I’d argue that your EED February is still very much ‘on’.

Thank you, considered briefly doing double duty today to catch up but have fallen into a box set and want to get through it 🤣🤣 (Gomorrah 👍🏻)

Think your plan sounds still on track - I’m sure exercise every day doesn’t just mean running outside. Good start to the week 👍🏻

Great that the route conditions were on your side today, fantastic time for your 10k, that’s my go to distance but way slower. Happy running 🤗

Thank you GH, yeah it was a decent run, hadn't done that route for a while so time passed a little quicker. I do enjoy a 10k it's pretty much a spot on distance time and distance wise.

Just catching up and see you were out of the blocks yesterday for your run! Those splits are insane 😜 Good stuff. Keep posting your runs, happy to read and live vicariously through the gazelle gang who are actually running while I am stuck on the IC. Need to keep hoping... 😊

Thank you! Il be honest I went out for a 5k this morning too 🤣 went to go for a walk and the only gear downstairs was my running kit... It was an easy choice 😁😁

I missed today’s run and know how you felt, this run ended well and was well worth doing

Nice one RR, must have been a wonderful feeling seeing the snow had gone so you could run! You made the right call staying in the previous day. No point risking it and potentially ending up on the IC!

Well done, a great run 😀.

Also I’m totally with you for needing to chat on this forum regularly. My husband tries to listen but he’s not into running at all 🤣Need to get my running chat fix with like minded running folk! 👍🏻😀
