Cor blimey I’m faster than a car!

Well I never....it’s still very frosty around here but after a pitch inspection, ( I mean a quick look out of the window!) I thought I’d venture out. Just a quick winter warmer, 30 minutes in week 7 of Ju Ju’s plan. I’d thought I’d try to be a bit quicker than my usual snail’s pace so as a treat, I added a banana to my usual custard slice on the side in the kitchen to aid my recovery on my return. But out there it was still very icy and so as I picked my way between the tarmac and ice just like a ballerina, had that snail been with me it’d been ahead. Down the hill, round the S bend then up the steep hill that was like sheet ice. I could see a car half way up and it’s wheels were spinning. But my pavement was clear and I was gaining. Still the car wheels turned and soon I was by it’s side. I smiled at the driver as I passed by, just to be friendly on a cold Sunday morning, but looking back now, I wish I hadn’t dipped my head as I got to the top of the hill! Soon enough, the car got to the top and then passed me quickly on the road at the top, and it disappeared into the distance. But no matter.....for a fleeting moment.....I was faster than a car!

Yes 030961, thanks, I am keeping safe and well, yesterday I got my first Covid 19 vaccination, no after effects whatsoever. 😊

Thank you. Can I just add that lots of us read your posts and it keeps us all going. You are both huge inspirational people.....so thank you. You’ve helped to get what was a sedentary person who want sure of himself, into a confident person who enjoys his running.....so thank you both. 030961

That’s so nice thank you, lately i seem to either be not running or moaning about it but we’ve always found winters challenging and this year it’s cold at work so it’s even more challenging, I could strangle whoever said open your windows to keep the virus moving and not in your space,

Haha. Good running to beat a car. You can beat them in traffic jams too - although I don't like doing that as all the people in the jam gave got nothing g else to look at😂
