Well, not really sure about posting this, sad news, my mum passed away yesterday evening, at the care home, still getting my head round things, but I know she's in a better place. 😥

How i'd love to go for a long run today, but will be sensable and rest a bit longer, so will be ready for that HM, when it comes! 🏃‍♂️

So so sorry for you Peter, take great care and look after yourself. A gentle jog to help your head whenever you (and your body) are up to it. Condolences. 😪

I’m genuinely so sorry to hear your sad news Peter, I know you had been waiting for that dreaded call but it still hits you so hard and knocks the wind out of you.

Plenty of time for a long run, you need to be kind to yourself now. I think from what you’ve said that mum no longer enjoyed a good quality of life recently so maybe it’s a blessing for her.

My thoughts are with you and you’re family.

Aww my condolences Peter. Even if expected it’s hard to get through, especially under these circumstances. You will get out a run when your physically and mentally ready. I find it helps when times are hard.

Dear Peter, I am so sorry to hear your sad news, sending you my condolences. Nothing much will help right now and the shock of losing a dear parent, even if expected, is a huge blow. I lost my Dad in April, I know. Please know that we are all sending you hugs and much strength to get through these difficult days. Take care of yourself right now and you can get out for a gentle jog when you are ready x

Oh, Peter. I’m so sorry to hear your news... and it must be especially tough in current restrictive circumstances. Take really good care of yourself. Running is waiting for you, when you’re ready, but I can imagine how much solace a long run could have given you.

You know the call is coming but it's still a shock when it happens.

It's even more difficult in these days when we're separated from our loved ones.

I'm still regularly comforting my partner who lost both her parents in the latter part of last year. I actually felt angry at the anodyne phrase "I'm sorry for your loss" parroted by the care professionals.

Take care. Try to be strong. Accept that you won't be. Remember the good things.

Thank you Littleyellow, as you say, even when your expecting it, still hits hard, just glad it's over now, no waiting for the phone to ring! 😥Anyway, it's sunny down here today, not running yet, will rest up a bit longer, hope you'll be able to get out soon.

Thank you Leosmit, not great, just getting through each day, at the moment, not really sunk in yet, shame i cant do a long run either, as hip still a bit stiff. ☹

Leosmit profile image
LeosmitGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to Peter44

Look after the hip, maybe a few short, slow runs for the hip and for your head. Your Mammy is your Mammy, as they say, and the loss will be tough.

Peter44 profile image
Peter44Graduate10 in reply to Leosmit

Might try a short one, all my runs are slow, this sat/sun, which will be 10 days since last run.Your right, so sad, but my mum lost both her daughters, my sisters, to cancer, 7/8 years ago, and she'd really had enough, so l should be glad she's now at peace.
