Well despite me saying a couple of weeks ago I'd start the magic plan distance version, I've just been faffing about, not getting into a routine, dithering about the weather, doubting whether I can do it, procrastinating, procrastinating..... Anyway this morning I did intervals (NRC first speed run) which was so, well, nice and easy! Maybe I can do 10k.... I'll only know if I get my a**e into gear and JUST DO IT. π
What am I like?: Well despite me saying a... - Bridge to 10K
What am I like?
Like your post and I bet whilst you was running and when you finished you thought to yourself 'that was great and what was all the fuss about' pesky gremlins!! π
Quite understand, it's hard to find motivation some days, for a variety of reasons . It's getting the balance of running enthusiastically, while running to a plan of some sort. Finding the right plan does wonders, but locks you into feeling guilty if you're not doing it. You seem to be getting on well blossom, and finding your way to your goal. Well done for that! Whilst I'm here with feet up basking in sunshine coming through the windows, typing to you and thinking I must get out there - see what I mean about guilt!
Best wishes βΊοΈ
Hey Blossom, that just do it worked for me, I kept going and suddenly realised If i ran for 5k in a fairly straight line Iβd have to run home again and could walk if needed, it wasnβt needed and although really slow it was great Good luck when you do it
You can do it ππI know what you mean about the weather it makes it so difficult to get into a rhythm with runs.
Trust the plan and trust yourself you'll get there π
Just do it wins every time, beat the gremlins, beat the weather, reach 10k. Go for it. Happy running π€
I'm with you there Blossom...... trying to reach that elusive 10k, but running much less than before due to work, weather, short days etc....any excuse! I've had my running gear on since this morning, but still haven't gone outside. Must go NOW. There, I've said it!!
Well? Did you go??
YES!!!! I did, and very pleased I did too - I thought of all my VRB's out there as I took my first few steps and thought 'if they can do it, so can I' ... and I did. 8k!Like CC I think I'm avoiding 10k as I need that goal!
Have a great week and maybe let's try and get out there at least once before next weekend!
Happy running π
Yay well done 8k! Amazing! I'm planning on week 1 long run tomorrow - 5.5k. fingers crossed the weather doesn't put me off π€
Blossom, we are kindred running spirits π At least dreary Jan is done and dusted and Iβm sure when we have slightly better weather youβll find your rhythm again.
I was edging closer to the (again) 10K to have life get in the way (again) but I wondered if I was partly putting off cracking on with it because it was the only goal I had. What on earth would I do once Iβd got it??
With that in mind I signed myself up to LEJOG which I am ridiculously excited about. Iβm currently on the IC but Iβm feeling like Iβve got a bit of focus back because I have this mahoosive challenge ahead of me that isnβt going anywhere without my dedication. The 10K is now just part of the process π
However you approach it, you CAN do 10K and you WILL do 10K! πββοΈπ
Thanks CC. I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling the way I do. Sorry you are on the IC, hope you get back to it soon. Hmm Lejog, I was looking at that this morning, however I quite fancy the south west coast path as I live near it, but it's a heck of a lot of running, commitment, dedication and all that other stuff I can't seem to muster at the moment! Yes, when the weather improves and spring is round the corner now, it will be a delight to get out with the birdsong, as coach Bennett says on 'the highway of joy'. π
βHighway of Joy,β ohh, I love CB π
Yes thatβs true, it is a big commitment. Iβm sure your pondering and planning will all fall into place when itβs meant to.
Doesnβt sound like your mojo is going anywhere so keep looking ahead even though youβre not sure about the official route yet ππ
Just trust in the plan Blossom π you will get there π
