They Think It’s All Over.....

A journey that started 8 months ago finished this week. 74 runs through C25K and then C210K has finished as mission accomplished with a 59 min 10K. I did manage one 10K last year, and got the badge but injury meant I never finished the programme so had to go for it again.

Lessons learned are that niggles should not be ignored, after ignoring a calf strain and trying to run through it I had a lengthy lay off and had to start the 10K programme again, repeating 20 runs in the process- if it’s sore, give it the rest it needs and slow down...PB’s are not worth chasing.

Did I enjoy it? Well most of it, but the last two long runs of 55 min and then the hour really tested my patience, especially when my earphones packed in 3 min into the 55 min run....

So where now, I think some light runs to keep it going, enter the first public 5K I can but the only way I’m running 10K again is if I’m being chased by some flesh eating monster that can only run 999m and at a slower pace than me. 😂

Summing up, it’s been magical, trusting the programmes has been key and boy do they work, I’m immensely proud of this achievement and would encourage anyone questioning to stick with it - you will make it. Anything is possible if we think it is....stay safe everyone
