Good afternoon runners! Night shift last night so I didn't get out until 10am this morning, it was cold and wet and snowing sideways! Kept the pace purposely slow, the music relaxed and just ran wherever the mood took me. Managed a steady 8km and decided to stop as a few niggles emerged and didn't want to push my luck.
Onto my February "plan" if you can call it that π€£ I noticed for my previous month's, despite doing quite a lot of running, there were too many days of relative inactivity. I was working out at home a little but not enough and certainly not getting close to the recommended 10k steps a day. February then my plan is to run every other day as normal but on rest days still get out and hit at least 10 thousand steps, plus do my resistance band/bodyweight workouts and some yoga (I'm struggling with settling into a routine for both of I'm honest). Basically zero days off in February niggles permitting π€π»π€π»
I'm thinking about getting weighed each Friday and doing an update on here just after to cover runs and exercise done etc so I'm not having to bore everybody with my rambling posts every day π€£π€£π€£
I hope everybody had a great start to the week/month and hope all your runs are going smooth and niggle free π€π» guys on the IC i hope your all back soon ππ»

You are not boring us with your posts and reports of your running or walks, that is what this forum is all about, runners sharing their good and not so good runs,I like your February plan, try and run at least two or three days a week, that way you should not have too many inactive days, 10K steps can be counted as walks or runs, good luck in getting weighed each Friday, remember, as well as exercise, sticking with a healthy diet is also very important. π ππΎ
Thanks Al, yeah I'm working hard on the diet part of it, struggling a bit with health options sometimes but certainly eating a lot better than I was ππ»
Ooo I do like a plan and daily updates are great too, iβm impressed you ran after a night shift, I went swimming straight after a night shift once, dived in did 3 strokes and realised i couldnβt, home to sleep Keep us informed how well itβs going and good luck
My "Nightshift" wasn't like most people's, out of the house 3 hours and did about 30 mins work π€£π€£ππ» we'd completed most of the work on previous visits so this was just snagging. I was asleep by 3am so getting up and running was just like normal apart from a little later.
Glad you had some work last night, and another 8km today, good you stopped when the niggles started.I'm still resting up, feel bad, as had no exercise since last friday βΉ so going for a walk, in a bit.
Oh, and the ironic thing is i've lost about 4 pounds in weight. π€·ββοΈ
Iβm loving all the fresh energy buzzing about on the forum now Feb has arrived βΊοΈ So are you actively trying to lose weight as well as gain fitness then? Are you changing your eating habits too?
Donβt hold back in letting us know how you get on. I donβt always do the best job of fuelling myself properly before a run so will happily lap up any inspo!
Yeah trying to lose weight in the correct way, no fad diets etc. Trying to stay at a calorie deficit everyday and have cut down massively on unhealthy foods. Allow myself 1 cheat meal on weekend when we tend to get a takeaway. Not drinking is also helping so I'm going to carry that on for February. Have lost about half a stone since end of Xmas and would like to see similar at the end of this month π€π»
Now then, that is quite a busy plan for Feb.. I love it!! Gotta have a plan.. and in the absence of any interesting run plan around here, I'm all for living vicariously through you this month π Something every day sounds achievable, it's just getting into that mindset. Allowing yourself little rewards at the end of each week would be good and of course, accountability is right up there and we are going to insist you keep posting please so we can keep you accountable πͺπͺ
Reading everyone's run reports right now is keeping me going while I hover on the IC (not sitting down fully, ever hopeful!) I was up early (7am) this morning for an hour of strength training and specific work on my lower body. Legs like jelly but all good π₯ Working on daily stretching and foam rolling. Going to try yoga again this evening!
