Building up to a second 50 minute run on Friday (normally I run on Saturdays, but I am giving blood then and I don't want to run 6K ish the day after that.)
This week I are mostly running shorter distances. 35 minute and change for 4K on Monday. A few (not many) hidden icy patches in the dark, so I was a bit circumspect in some dodgy looking places (though there are quite a few here, for other reasons!) pleased with the time, tiptoeing around some places notwithstanding, and more importantly I did not fall over.
3K under 25 minutes today with 5 "sprint" intervals.
I am feeling my way with faster intervals - trying to find my best pace to complete 30 or 45 seconds rather than going flat out and finishing at 20 (though I might try that one day too once the weather gets better). I find my recovery runs near the end are very snail-like! Not going to injure myself going too fast too soon. Starting to get the hang of them, just.
Don't think I will be as fast as the guy running the opposite way to me on one stretch for 200m sprints and walking back-to re-start; he was running in the road - it was a 20 mph zone and I think he got a ticket!
