Amazing what a sunny, winter day can do!

Yesterday here in North Kent was a delight. Bright sunshine and blue sky motivated me to run an extra mile. So I'm pleased I got to 6.1k without too much endurance, more like enjoyment. I hope it's the bar lifting a little further towards 10k - we shall see. I was beginning to think 5k runs were all I'd get to, but it seems not. I even sprinted in last 30 seconds, overall time (55 mins). I'm so pleased my 60+ year old legs still carry me with loyalty and gusto!

Hats off to all runners - especially those in the "Senior Team" 😁.

Best wishes ☺️

You’re doing brilliantly. I love those chilly sunny days best of all. You’ll get to that 10k if it’s what you want to achieve. Who cares how long it takes? And that you are enjoying yourself is the best prize, no? 👍😊

Well Gail, we shall see if 10k is waiting for me. I take it as it comes, put in the leg work and hope for the best. Staying fit and injury free is my aim and hopefully the big bonus of 10k will be part of that.Best wishes

Take it steady and over time you can run as far as you want to. That’s how I got to 10K. I wasn’t after the distance particularly, I just slowly increased the time I was running slowly and I enjoyed every run. Slow runs are just the best!

Brilliant - well done Raisemeup !Are you following the Magic 10 program or just building up yourself? Keep your pace down on the longer runs and I’m sure you will get there!👍🙂

So far I make it up, and I'm fortunate enough to have a good friend who is an established runner of 20 years and runs with me. I get tips and encouragement and a prompt to go out when I'd like to stay home! I also have my friend's dog who loves the running and we run as a pack! She circles around behind me if I'm flagging and sweeps me up😁Best wishes ☺️
