Hi everyone, lovely weather out today down here, good call to cancel my run yesterday, with all the rain. 🌞
Well, today had an idea to do a longer run, maybe 12/14k, felt quite good, early on, ran through another village, to avoid the very muddy bit of canal, had seen videos on f/book of flooded tow paths yesterday, then joined canal further up, by which point the sun was out, and that's when Forest Gump joined us, my daughter was with me too, something went wrong with NRC today, was reading 4k ahead of strava, and saying pace was 6.45/km, which wasnt right, my fastest ever 1k, is 7.15 i think! Anyway, on we went, got to the 2 hour running, then 15k, we were going by my daughters fitbit now, which tallys with strava, 16k, wasnt sure exactly what 10 miles was, so went on a bit, just in case! 🤣
So time for a nice warm soak in bath, hope everyone else is having a good day, and still thinking about you all, having to isolate!
68.4 km towards my total. 💜💜

Thanks, was just one of those runs, when everything just feels good, just have to make the most of them! ☺Hope your feeling ok, after being back at work?
I am feeling absolutely exhausted back at work this week- haven’t ran at all- I’m going to try and do one tomorrow- I’ll be taking a nice easy short one
After your covid, i think your doing great, with work, cant be easy, it's bad enough, just transporting them all in to school!! 🤣Hope the weathers ok for your run. 🌞
Thanks, i know, i was thinking about your comment, saying 12k was your jump figure to 10 miles 🤣 tried out the tights today too, felt ok, was worried they might keep slipping down 🤣 eventualy forgot i had them on. We did good, doing our runs today 🌞 rather than yesterday, in the 🌧
Was getting very confusing with the split times, blimey, nrc says i did a 4.29 min kilometer, which didnt happen! 🥵 and it said i'd run 20km at the end, which also didnt happen 🥵 not sure why 🤷♂️Only really needed the tights, for warm up walk, but was good to get used to them, and didnt have to keep pulling them up! 🤣
I’ve had a few inaccuracies with NRC. 4:29? That would be good! I think I’ve manage 5:40, but it was only for 1 minute on an interval run! No way could I maintain it. One of my Strava contacts is a Basque runner who likes to run up mountains for fun. His pace on the flat is around 3:30.
Good that the tights fit properly, nothing worse than keeping having to hitch up your tights ! 😊
Don’t rule it out!!I was shocked! Warm up walk. Sprint for 60 seconds, slow jog for 90 seconds. 8 repeats. 7 of my sprints were 5 something. Others had similar results.
Brilliant effort, is that your first 10miles? If so well done to you and your daughter, pop over to the marathon forum for your 10miles badge. 68.4km is great progress at only 1/2 way through January, fantastic. Happy running 🤗
Thanks, yes first 10 miles, blimey, marathon forum 🥵 not been over there yet, didnt know about a 10 mile badge 🏅will have a look. Yep, that 100km might be do'able!
What a great long run Peter44 going great guns 👍👍, I'm not doing my longer runs as it's red January, currently knocked out 85k but itching for a nice long one asap🏃♂️🏃♂️ keep it going 💪
Wow that's a cracking run!💪🏻👌🏻👍🏻 Welcome to the 10mile club 😁😁😁 and nearly 70k for the month too, I knew you would be close to me! 👍🏻 That January total just keeps on growing 😁👍🏻
Thanks, didnt want to fall behind! 🤣I was reading your comments, about lack of weight loss, i'm pretty much the same, lost about a stone, 18 months ago, when i started going to gym, and swimming, walked, every day, during 1st lockdown, started c25k, in sept, but no more real weight loss, but the wobbly bits, dont wobble, quite as much now! 🤣
Woah 😧 😧 10 miles!!! Congratulations.. amazing distance and commitment to get there. And in the face of dodgy tech playing up too! I mean, I know we always say it but can you remember when we all had 30mins running ahead of us and we were slightly quaking?! Now you’re out over 2hrs 💪🏼💪🏼 As Alan Partridge would say, “you mentalist” 😂😂 But just brilliant. Hope you enjoyed your long soak in the bath!
I'm just the same, always think about early weeks in c25k, w5r3, and the 30 min runs 🥵 and now we're here, it's mad, running for 2 hours 🤣 i dont always mention it, boring same thing, all the time etc, but so glad to have started c25k, when i did!Dont tell anyone, but i had a look over at the marathon forum!!! 🤣
Congratulations on completing your 10 mile distance, that’s an amazing achievement! Very inspirational. I’m hoping to follow in your footsteps soon, aiming for 12K on Sunday and build from there. Happy running
Thanks, hope the weathers better tomorrow for your run, got snow here today 🥶 i think once we get over the 10km barrier, stretching it further, isnt too bad really, but i'm still pretty slow! 🤣
Congratulations on running your first 10 miles, well done, now you are with "the big boys and girls "on the Marathon forum" if a runner runs 10 miles, half or full marathon that runner is now a member of that forum.
Thanks, yep, was pretty chuffed, bit achy today, but not too bad, hope your feeling ok, having small children, and being ill, cant be easy, too long ago for me to remember! 🤣
🤣 I’m sure it wasn’t that long ago! Feeling good thanks! I think that’s why my recovery was longer because I had to keep going with the two kids and of course the homeschooling! It is hard. But when they get older they can look after me😂
Thanks, went a bit further than planned, and probably the wrong way to do it, risking injuries etc, but when it feels good, i just think, why not!Hope your feeling ok, probably itching to get out again?
