Finally the temperature has lifted and the ice is gone! I was determined to get out to run today having not been out for over 10 days. The longest I've ever gone in between runs but after almost slipping over at the end of my drive some time back I wasn't going to chance it.
I decided to do 25mins with the NRC app and it felt great to run again. I really expected to struggle - but I found it comfortable and exhilarating to be back out with Coach Bennett's dulcet tones ringing in my ears. I love this app and the coaching as it makes the time pass so fast - when he said I had 90 seconds to go I was amazed!
Just goes to show that if you keep up with running and set a good foundation that your fitness is still there even after a bit of a break. I have been working out at home, so I'm sure that has helped but even so I expected to find today hard.
Hopefully the ice will stay away and I can run day after tomorrow - gonna build it back up slowly though. Hope everyone else has managed to resume after the cold snap.

Was so worried about falling! It was so slippery at the end of my drive I was like Bambi on ice! 😫. Thank you - felt so happy to be running this morning!
Same here first run since a week last Friday. Did manage my usual 5k but 2 minutes slower. Hopefully the weather will let me run again on Wed morning as I am not happy with icy roads and paths. I hope the rain stays away as well. Glad it wasn’t a disaster after a long enforced rest.
