First 10k of 2021 . . .

Well, I haven't exactly set the world on fire with my running since the New Year, I've been running but more just short maintenance runs really. This has mainly been down to a cold which seems to have lasted nearly two weeks. However I was out as soon as it got light this morning and heading for my favourite route the Brampton Valley Way, the route of the old railway from Northampton to Market Harborough. I didn't really have a plan but as its an 'out and back' type route at some point you have to make a decision just how far you are going to run and what your half way point is going to be. I got to 3k and thought that would make it 6k but I decided to carry on to 4k then though only another 1k and that would make it half way to 10k which is what I did. It all went OK, the last 1k back to the carpark seemed quite hard work but obviously not too bad as my average heart rate was only 124. The other week when I had a cold it was around 180 just doing 3k, so all in all I was quite happy with the run this morning . . . Keep running everybody and stay positive 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ 👍🙂

Great run with a good heart rate, your cold really didn't do you any favours on that earlier 3k. Glad you are better and reached your 1st 10k of 2021. Happy running 🤗

Yes it all went a bit easier than my other recent runs even though it was a 10k today 😁

Glad you're feeling better and what a great run. I'm impressed with your low heart rate running. Well done 👏👏👏

Thanks, well my heart rate is normally around 130ish when running but when I'm tired or under the weather it really shoots up which I was slightly worried about but apparently that's normal so I've learnt . . .
