So if you seen my post from yesterday I'd mentioned that I met some horses and they came over possibly thinking I had food but I didn't. So I felt guilty and while at Morrisons yesterday I bought a few carrots hoping to see them today.
The route was an out and back up the cycle path but there were no horses in sight so the carrots were in my pocket for about 8k . On the way back I spotted them and they all came over and I fed them the carrots and managed to pet them . There was also 2 donkeys .
Its freezing today , even more than yesterday and a cold wind. Looking at the forecast its go go up to about 6 or 7 degrees come Sunday or Monday.
So a rest day from running tomorrow as that's three days in a row running in the snow and my legs feel a bit achy.
Hope you like todays photos ๐โโ๏ธ๐ด๐ฅ

This is the first winter I've managed to run in the snow cheekychipmunks as it used to melt so fast. Its a bit harder but the good thing is it slows you down. So its quite enjoyable ๐
Lovely photos and how nice to be able to pet them as well - donkeys are so sweet. I'm sure running in the snow must be lovely - as long as there isn't ice sitting underneath it? You are on quite a roll it seems - very casual about your 10k run there. Are you going for an extended distance now? I've missed a lot of your posts.
They look like they are well looked after ponios. Mine were alway cheeky and on the scrounge for titbits and very fond of carrots. Sometimes owners are not keen on strangers feeding their animals (apples are particularly high in sugar and not good for animals susceptible to laminitis), so always best to check. They will appreciate the fuss though.
Ah glad carrots and ponies met up in the end. They'll be expecting them every time they see you now ๐Running in snow sounds hard work so well done for getting out in it. ๐
Running in the snow sounds quite challenging โ๏ธ well done for getting out there in those conditions, staying on your feet and completing 10k ๐ฎ thatโs very impressive. Horses and donkeys got a welcome treat too, great job ๐
๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ด๐ด. Lovely! Well done! And thank you for the lovely photos - they look like very happy ponies and donkeys! I'm glad they turned up to relieve you of your pocket load of carrots on your return leg. It doesn't look like your snow is thawing anytime soon!
Thatโs so brilliant, the lasting image I have is of you running 8k with carrots in your pocket, ๐คฃ๐คฃ so lovely, lucky horses, itโs such a treat isnโt it to have four legged friends on our running routes, my latest are 2 pigs that have just arrived on my route into the next village ๐ฅฐ๐๐ค
Great run, glad you found the horses, I bet they loved the carrots. Enjoy your well deserved days rest, that's been lots of running. Role on the thaw - then we'll complain about the puddles and slush๐คฃ happy running ๐ค
