First 7k in the snow! Exhilarating

Happy New Year to everyone 😊

First post this year. Started JuJu’s plan in December and only completed up to W2 because work kept me so busy, but never mind started back on January the 1st with W3 and my new Garmin that Santa very kindly sent 🤗. I think I love my Garmin as much as my running😂 probably because I seem to have got the hang of the technology.

I was a bit nervous about the 7k particularly as I didn’t know how much snow remained on my route. Once I was off the estate it was snow all the way. I just took my time and made a conscious effort not to go off too quickly.

About 3k in I seemed as if I was struggling so slowed down a bit more as the next half k was up hill. Once at the top it started snowing , it felt so so good running through the snow. I stopped my playlist and just enjoyed hearing the crunch of snow under foot and taking in the scenery.

I wouldn’t say it was easy, but running in the snow was so lovely. So my first 7k complete with very rosie cheeks . W3 completed 💪

A celebratory latte and a shortbread biscuit was definitely called for 😊

Sounds absolutely wonderful Dups !! When it was snowing here on Saturday, it was doing chubby snow (massive flakes) and I had the sudden urge to go running in it because the floor was dry so I knew there’d be no danger of me slipping but sadly there wasn’t time before the snow stopped so after reading about your lovely, snowy experience I will be lacing my trainers up at the first sign of snow 😊

Thank you. Was really pleased and looking forward to starting W4. Started this plan at the beginning of December, then work got so so busy and worked extra shifts to help out. Then started again New Year’s Day but it’s come to a halt again because the roads and paths are way too treacherous at the moment with frozen snow and ice. Never mind spring will be here soon ☀️
