Good morning runners and happy lockdown 3 to all! I know we don't technically start until tomorrow but best get in the spirit early. After 1 while day back at school yesterday for my youngest she's back off for another 6 weeks at least, thankfully for my 2 older girls who are of exam age the government has finally scrapped exams for this year 👌🏻 such a relief and weight off our minds. I felt lighter setting off running today knowing we had that issue sorted.
The Mrs has been furloughed so still some money coming in, I'm back in the boat of no cash coming in as there's just no work at the minute in my game 🤦🏼♂️ should only last this month 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Run today decided on 10k with NRC listening to a young native American boxer called Shy as I went, her and coach B passed the time nicely and the run went fairly quickly at about the hour mark. The pic with my times is one of the "puddles" I came across, luckily it was on my cool down walk so I backtracked and found another route, if I'd been running I may have just splodged through it 🤣🤣
Despite it being early and there being a lockdown I realised it was very very busy! The government really really needs to look into this "key worker" situation and make some changes. For me it should only be the absolutely essential folk like doctors, nurses, emergency services and the great folks that keep us supplied with food (shops, warehouse, deliveries) that should be working, having a lockdown and then expecting 75% of people to still go out to work seems stupid to me. People should be working from home or furloughed until this is sorted. I'm a "key worker" but what I do I mostly non essential, I have friends who work in car sales and are now "key workers" it's a bit of a shambles 🤣
I'm rambling! I hope everybody is fit and well that's the important thing, I hope if your running it's a good one 👍🏻

You’re well on the way to another good month of km covered. The only benefit of being off for you must be having the time to run. Some of those splits were super fast-would have been interesting to see how deep those ‘puddles’ were!
Yikes, that’s quite the puddle..! 😟 Does Coach Bennett offer a guided swim? 🤔
Very good news for your girls re exams. Such a relief. Not being able to work is so frustrating though it’s great your running is giving you chance to break away from the day to day.
That 10 mile goal is yours for the taking this next month! Happy running 🌟
Nice one, just a casual 10k...and those splits are looking very good I must say 😳🦌🦌Not sure about that "puddle" ..imagine if you'd run into it and ended up to your waist 🤣🤣I was out for my run this morning too and it did feel busy. Not sure if it's people getting out today while they can before the lockdown officially kicks in tonight.. Saw several parents taking their kids to school and I did wonder, can all these people be classed as "key workers"?? Maybe they were but hmm..
Given the current lockdown situation we're about to go into, and all the effects it's having on our lives, I thank my lucky stars every day we have running to keep us going 💪 Planning my next run as a 10k.. good to have a plan of sorts to follow!
Great run, lovely photos I too am a key worker, social care which takes second place to most the others, trying to work out who can work from home, possibly the manager and sometimes the assistant managers, hmm says a lot doesn’t it? (i’m an assistant manager so know i’m surplus to requirements most days )
Well done, another 10k chalked of, i know what you mean, lockdown in nov was a joke, roads were just the same, everyone out and about! 🤣 hope the work picks up soon, until schools open, i'm back on furlough, so at least theirs some money coming in.
Well done on your 10k, and have your moan too, its needed to relieve the stress. I feel in Scotland our government has been a lot more decisive and earlier too e.g. education. Hopefully your running will help mentally through this winter lockdown. Happy running 🤗
