First run of the year, back on my own, with my music 🎵 was thinking about a 6/7k, but everything felt good, pace was slower, which helped too, seem to be able to run slower, on my own 🤔 did the harry potter loop, then along to the canal, but just stretched it a bit, lovely sunny conditions, but not too hot, very busy/muddy by the canal, felt comfortable at 9/10k, and just thought, keep going, my boss rang me just near the end, to slow me up a bit, not back in on monday now, awaiting another call, re- schools opening!
Anyway, happy running, and thinking about everyone having to stay in and isolate! 🙏

Hi Peter, I did an almost identical run in terms of time and distance this morning. It was beautiful out there this morning and, for once, I didn’t have to get back home for any particular time. You can’t beat runs like that can you?
It’s probably for the best you avoid the school bus for the time being!
I know how you felt, nice sunny day, and nice knowing there's no deadline to be back for, while i've been of, over xmas/new year, most of my runs have been like that, think the teaching unions are pushing for another 2 weeks! 🤔
That’s a great first run for the new year, 11km 😀🦌🦌🦌 I can tell you’re already thinking about that 100k challenge and starting to chip away at the distance!! Great feeling mid-run knowing you’ve got more in you.. Is that your longest run?? I felt the same today but I am trying to be sensible and not overdo the long runs. Not sure my knee would be happy and I’m not going to stuff things up now (sooo tempting tho to keep going!)
So good you have running now to keep you in a routine with all the unpredictability of these strange times. And if you’re anything like me, a new obsession with Strava 😂😂
I've got both strava, 100k challenge, and also use nrc, but just to map time, pace, and distance. Had alot of dog walkers along the canal, to negotiate, and a very slippy, muddy bit, but apart from that, was just one of those runs, when everything feels good! ☺
Wow- you’re giving Jericho a run for his money with the Km you’re managing at the moment- brilliant! A half marathon is 21.1km- just putting that little thought in your head for the coming months 🤔😁🏃♂️
I'll slowly try and get to the 10 miles, then see where we are! ☺ hope your feeling ok, when i'm out, i do think about you, and buddhagal, not able to get out, at the moment 🦌🦌🦌.
When it happens, and i've the time, well, just go for it, only doing one long run a week, at the moment, it's probably not the 10% increase, etc, which is advised, but i found my new years eve 5k harder! 🤔
Another great run! Must be a lovely feeling when you know you can manage to go further. I’m looking forward to my run tomorrow, but as per usual don’t know where I’m going yet 😂
Thanks, hope the weather's ok for your run tomorrow, it's snowing in birmingham, at the footy, on the tv!It's nice not to have a definate route/time, planned, just see how it goes! ☺
Definitely. I don’t like feeling restricted to a set route, I run where my mood takes me. Talking footy I hope Arsenal win tonight or my other half will have the hump all tomorrow 🙄😂
