Well I went out this morning with much enthusiasm only to be stopped short as the roads were sheet ice. I ran for just over one k and then decided it was too dangerous to continue and came back defeated ๐ขI really hope that this is not an indication of my runs to come๐ฅบ๐ฅบ๐ฅบ๐ฅบ
Very short run : Well I went out this morning... - Bridge to 10K

You were NOT defeated, you were very sensible on not continuing with your run, the reason for the very icy conditions is because the snow partially melted, it rained a little then everything refroze leaving the place more suited to ice skating, certainly not for walks or runs.
Just icy cold weather Scruff. You made a wise decision to head back. Enjoy your next run ๐

Completely agree with AlMorr. It's not worth the risk to run on ice. An accident will hold you back for much longer. Happy New Year Scruff55 and may you enjoy your running on a safer surface.

Being cautious is not being defeated its what will keep us all running longer. The pavements, untreated roads and even the previously muddy foot paths are absolutely lethal round me this morning โน๏ธHappy running another day x

At least you got out and better to be safe than sorry on ice,
