So I've been running since lockdown and have recently completed my 1st 10k after joining a local running club👌
I got a gait analysis done after I completed my C25K and found that I'm a neutral runner with a high instep.... They recommended Nike Milers to me and I've been running in them ever since BUT they have started to wear on the bottom and I'm looking for suggestions for a replacement pair... Heard good things about Saucony, Hoka and Asics.....
Any recommendations will be gratefully received 👍

It's an individual thing Dunx1977 a decent running shop will advise you, and definitely let you have a treadmill run to feel the fit, I know I prefer brooks, and the guarantee off brooks is I think 90 days exchange or return if you're not happy etc
I'm with Hidden its totally personal. It's not until you try them on, walk and run around the shop or their treadmill that you really know what suits you. I've chosen to stick to exactly the same make and model each time for this very reason. I've tried on others that shops recommend if they dont have mine in stock but they are never quite right. If you can't get into a shop just now, pre-order same would be my advice, happy running 🤗
Hi, like everyone says it’s a very personal thing when it comes to shoes. When I had my gait analysis I ended up with some Brooks Ghost shoes, I can remember one other pair I tried on were from Nike and they just weren’t for me, felt like I was slapping my feet down on the treadmill. I ran in my Brooks for a few months, then started to develop minor and shin splints in one leg, so decided to try ASICS ‘gel’ shoes. I now have two pairs of ASICS which I really like, especially as I don’t get the shin splints anymore. So far ASICS are wearing very well and their ‘all winter long’ (AWL) range are great for this time of year as mud just washes off with a quick rinse under the tap.
Given how expensive shoes can be and given you don’t know what you do or don’t like until you try them, one way to try a different brand is to look out for a cheap pair in a sale. They might not be the latest model but at least they will give you an idea if you like the brand or not !
