Today was the perfect day for my first post-injury run and it was fabulous!
I know Iβm a late starter to the Christmas Bingo, but I think I managed to tick off some of the squares - I ran with a bell on my Santa hat, found holly with just a few berries left and the photo of our friendsβ decorated house was taken on an evening dog walk during the week.
But best of all has got to be running with my hubby on Christmas Day. I joined him on day 25 of his December charity runs (Run the Runways) and today we ran the length of the Lapland runway.
I was initially just going to run for part of it and walk the rest to ease back in gently, but his phone died at 1.5k and I had to keep going so I could record the run for him. I kept my pace deliberately slow to be on the safe side and he just stuck with me and we chatted as we ran. After sharing present opening with the kids, this has been the nicest way to spend Christmas morning π₯°.
Wishing everyone on the forum a peaceful Christmas and hopes for a kinder 2021. Thank you for all your encouragement and support this year. When the going got a bit tough you were all there with kind words to rally my spirits
Right, enough of being sentimental, the turkey needs to go in the oven and Iβm sure thereβs a sherry for me somewhere.
Merry Christmas. Hope you are having a lovely day. Our dog has tucked into turkey and snoozing with a full tummy by the fire. Iβm sure Lyra is having her best time with you xx
Perfect Delly, couldnβt have been a better return from IC run, lovely, so pleased for you. Mr J & I had a short walk under stormy rain clouds this morning & just having a cocktail whilst waiting for the turkey to brown. Iβm hoping to do the santa hat with jingle bell run tomorrow, (weather permitting...forecast looks frightful! ) Enjoy the rest of your day π₯ & a very Happy Christmas π€Άπ
Happy happy Christmas. Delighted to hear you are off the IC. That is very good news. Have not been running much as managed to fall and damage my toe. Thought it was broken but just badly bruisedTake care and donβt overdo it.
Merry Christmas Delly-dot.Glad to see you back out there and what a great run to start you off again. Running a runway sounds a bit dangerous to me π€£ and how lovely being able to run it together and on Christmas Day.
Thanks Oldfloss. It felt so good to put on my trail shoes and head down the track to run in the woods again. Legs are a little achy this morning (my fault, didnβt stretch enough) but no niggles from my foot, so thatβs good ππ. A warm bath and some yoga π§πΌββοΈ this morning will put me right. A nice dog walk this afternoon before the storm moves in and we have to batten down the hatches!
Thank you CBDB π. Iβve got to sit down today and log all my recovery walks and yesterdayβs run on LEJOG. It might nudge me closer towards my family in Cheshire which will be nice. Maybe Iβll make it for New Years Day to spend it with them π. Xx
Great to hear youβre off the IC. And enjoyed a lovely Christmas morning run. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your day and that youβre not too stiff today. Happy running πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπππ§βππ§βπβοΈβοΈ
Thank you Scruff π. A little stiff so did some yoga this morning and feeling better now. Foot feels okay today so thatβs good. Iβm looking forward to easing back in gently - Iβll need to shift the Christmas pounds!
