I haven't posted for a few days but have still been running πββοΈπ last Thursday morning the internet was down and I decided as unable to work that I'd go for my longer run of the week. I'd previously done a 12k after 3 weeks of 10k, and thought I'd get do around 8k and see how I felt about doing 12k π€£ I put NRC 10 mile run with coach Bennett as I didn't want to run out of company and don't always press the right buttons to continue past the end of an NRC run... anyway, long story short, coach Bennett got me motivated and I started to think I might just do the 10 miles πββοΈπ, and guess what, I did π€£πββοΈ I ran a version of my usual route on roads and tracks to 8.5k, and then down into the local village and round residential streets, doing fartleks when instructed π₯΅ and after 2hours, 9 minutes and 40 seconds it was in the bag! I was glad of a scheduled Skype pilates session the folliwing day and after 3 rest days I set off after dark for a 4k recovery run π was going to take Michael BublΓ© for company but ditched him for Ball and Boe- made a pleasant change π΅πΆ realised part way round that I hadn't connected headphones to bluetooth and was blaring Christmas music as I ran, but only passed three people and one wished me a merry Christmas, a greeting which I returned for a bingo tick β I counted 100 decorated trees ( got to 95 and ran up a brightly decorated road to bag another 5!) and 17 herds of one or more grazing, illuminated (artificial) deer ππ¦ I'm waiting for tomorrow to run in my Christmas jumper and jingle bells π ππ hope everyone has the best Christmas possible, and looking forward to reading lots of Christmas running reports π ππ¦β π€
Slowly enjoying a festive recovery run with ... - Bridge to 10K
Slowly enjoying a festive recovery run with Michael Ball and Alfie Boe with bingo ticks β after my first 10 mile run πββοΈπ ππΆπ΅
πππ100 x Xmas trees and 17 herds of deer π¦π¦π¦. on a 4K recovery run: wow, thatβs so impressive!
(Oh, well done on the 10 miler, too πππππand with fartleks thrown in!)
The Christmas tree counting is easy after dark (and a lot of fun) I reckon folks have gone to town with the Christmas decs this year π ππ some houses have got a couple of trees in the garden plus one or more inside that are visible from the road. I counted everything, miniature trees, the lot ππ€£ and thank you for the encouragement with the running- it's my lockdown treat to my health! I've gone from the fitness level of a slug to 10 miles running in 8 months. I reckon that's one of the best gifts a body could ask for ππ and I've got Christmas Eve pilates "party" to look forward to tomorrow as well as my Christmas eve run ππ€ΈββοΈπ§ββοΈπββοΈπ
Enjoy your βPilates partyβ... sounds great fun... Come to think, what is that? Planks with mince pies balanced on your back?!!π€£
An excellent Christmas bingo run littleoyellow. I bet everyone enjoyed listening to your Christmas music as you passed by. I might do that on my Christmas Day run. π€Άπ»
Congratulations on your 10 miles too.
I know it would probably normally be considered inconsiderate to blare out music (it was LOUD as my hearing isn't that sharp) but in retrospect I think it was really nice and Chrstmassy ππ πΆ Alfie Boe's vocal on O Holy Night earned me the merry Christmas greeting! Go for it on Christmas Day! Have a great run! Ho ho ho hugs π€
Lovely run report from you and HUGE congratulations from me on your 10 mile run. Amazing! And you did the Fartleks, too (I didnβt π€£).
A successful run on all levels! Merry Christmas ππββοΈπ·π π
