After an illness induced 8 days break from running I was so excited to get back out there today, all those ‘miles in the legs’ were still there, just as you’ve said. I Bingo-ed my way around a chilled 5k, counting sparkling Christmas trees, listening to heart warming Carols, and came home to the mornings baking for my Christmas treat; mince pies and a glass of ginger wine.
The Winter Solstice is a favourite moment in the seasonal calendar for me and I think it’s worth mentioning that despite all the bad news and disappointments at the moment for so many of us, from today ( for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere) we are heading into the light again, out of the darkness and so with this message of hopefulness I want to say Happy Solstice to all my awesome VRB’s.
I’ve become very behind with everything this week and haven’t been able to respond to everyone as I would have wanted and may have missed your celebrations or offering commiserations, but to you all, each and every one, thank you, very very well done, stay hopeful and above all keep running.
Happy solstice to you too, light at the end of the tunnel. Shame about the clouds blocking the star of Bethlehem tonight though but we know it was there. Happy running now you are recovered
Lovely positive post on this Solstice day. I'm glad you found you still had your running legs ☺️🏃♀️Your mince pies look delicious, I made Solstice biscuits, they'd be so good with some of that ginger wine 😋
Thank you for your lovely meaningful words. Its true we are leaving the darkness behind😁let us celebrate that and use our collective love of running to run into the light and hopefully a better year😁now where do i find those mince pied and ginger wine???
That’s lovely JR, thank you. 🥰 This year has been beyond horrible, and I will be mighty glad to see the back of it
You’re right, each day now will be just a tiny bit longer, heading for spring. 🙏🏻 Let’s all get through winter together and look forward to a cheerier 2021.
Your mince pies look yum by the way! 😋🎄 Merry Christmas!
